3.0 Quake Near Willow Creek

At approximately 2:30 p.m., a 3.0 quake occurred northeast of Orleans in Siskiyou County, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The earthquake was centered 8 kilometers (about 5 miles) south-southeast of Somes Bar as indicated on the USGS page dedicated to this specific seismic event.

Residents in the vicinity of the quake may have experienced mild shaking.

I didn’t feel anything, but I think I was napping.
But a 3.0 could mean it’s a precursor to a larger quake…

We had a big one in the last couple of years.
My house is still crooked from that one.
I’m still finding someone to level it for me.

Hope we don’t end up like Rio Del…

Yes. Exponentially. Then it’s a matter of how far away horizontally and how deep. Also, duration. The farther away, the less effect. The material the shock travels through is a factor; Rock, sand, mud, water, whatever. Dr. Dengler, stat, stat.
