At about 5:45 tonight, a tree fell on a pickup in Phillipsville. According to resident Monica Pereira who sent these photos, ‘[The] fir tree took out power lines, power pole & someone’s new truck… .”

PG&E reports that power went of to about 123 customers in Phillipsville north to Barnum road east of Miranda and as far east in some places as Dyerville Loop Road. They are currently estimating that it will be 6 a.m. before power is restored.

Pereira Another resident told us, “PGE came out for a bit. Presumably cut power and assessed danger before leaving. It is pouring heavily. I cannot imagine trying to work on power lines in this.”The fir tree smashed into the back of a white pickup.

UPDATE
: PG&E returned with a crew about 11 p.m. and, according to a local resident, power was back on at 6 a.m. “Workers were on site most of the night,” the resident said.

Thank you for posting this Kim.

Just a correction on the PG&E’s worker’s quote. That quote must have come from another reporting neighbor.

My photos came from my husband’s site visit. He used my car to get there, but I was never at the site.

My husband reported that the PG&E worker said “he was going to consult with his supervisor for the next steps”. Within an hr, my husband checked the site again & PG&E was gone.

Maybe PG&E has invisible Elves on staff that will get our power back up by 6am???

Most of us rely on electricity from PG&E every day. I, for one would not want the job of working on power lines in a storm, especially high winds. PG&E may have made a lot of mistakes and charge lots of money, but that doesn’t reflect on the people that work every day to keep the lines up and working. If I had a hat, I’d tip it to those workers.

Isn’t it strange that when you get a new vehicle it will get that painful necessary first dent right away.

Ernie, that Ford got a real big dent for sure. I even wonder if it bent the frame.
