Today, the Eureka Police Department (EPD) announced that Destinee Grace Rhamy, the woman wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of 27-year-old Holland Elbik, voluntarily surrendered herself at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility.

The events leading up to Rhamy’s surrender were set in motion when officers from the EPD responded to a 911 call on August 2, 2023, at approximately 6:37 p.m. The caller reported a physical fight in the 100 block of W. Sonoma Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Holland Elbik in medical distress inside her home. Immediate efforts to save her life were made by officers and medical personnel from Humboldt Bay Fire and City Ambulance. Tragically, Elbik succumbed to her injuries at the hospital .

According to a September 21 press release from Eureka Police, upon further investigation, officers determined that Holland Elbik had sustained the injuries during a physical altercation that occurred between her, her roommate Destinee Rhamy, and a male friend of Rhamy’s. The EPD says that Elbik had been fatally stabbed during the altercation.

The EPD worked to gather evidence and secure an arrest warrant for Destinee Grace Rhamy, a 20-year-old woman. EPD’s earlier press release stated, “Do not attempt to contact or apprehend Rhamy as she is considered armed and dangerous.”

Destinee Rhamy voluntarily surrendered herself to authorities at the Humboldt County Correctional Facility, where she was subsequently booked on a warrant for murder. Rhamy now faces a bond set at $750,000 as she awaits further legal proceedings.

This is the press release sent out today from the Eureka Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On September 27, 2023, Homicide Suspect, Destinee Rhamy, surrendered to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility and was booked on her warrant for Murder. Rhamy is being held on $750,000 bond.

Cops are hoping it’s their Destinee she’ll cave under pressure and roll over on her unidentified “male friend” – and she’s hoping it’s her Destinee to skate free since she and her male friend may be the only surviving witnesses.

She’s a great mom and person.. she doesn’t deserve being sought out for being a murderer or anything that proclaimed her a bad person. I prey to God shes ok. We send our love and know she’ll be out soon. She’s innocent.

Sure…..everyone in prison is innocent just ask them…..

Granted we don’t know the whole story and she may be innocent but I am not taking her word alone on this. Let’s see what the evidence points to

If you know she’s innocent, what’s your proof?

I know that DSL is Determinate Sentencing Law but I’m not sure what “she’s got some nice DSLs” means in this context.
What is a “nice” dsl?

Your statement is contingent upon her getting convicted and the particular charges for which she is convicted, right?

There are several possibilities as a result of this homicide.
She might plea down to manslaughter.
She might not be convicted of anything.
The prosecutor might decide that it was justifiable self defense and not prosecute her.
Etc.

At this point, who knows?
