Estimated 3.2 Quake Shakes SoHum and Northern Mendocino

Screenshot of the Earthquake on the USGS map

Today, on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at 10:42 a.m., a minor earthquake with a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale occurred near the Humboldt Mendocino County border, west of Hwy 101 and south of Hartsook Creek in Humboldt County. With seismic activity in California happening relatively frequently, this tremor, went largely unnoticed, with very few residents reporting feeling the earth move.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) pinpointed the epicenter of the earthquake to this relatively remote area, which likely contributed to the limited reports of ground shaking.

So, did you feel it?

It started with the squirrels, but soon all the mammals and birds were upset. It was just after 9AM. We are fairly close to the epicenter and did not feel anything when it occurred. But I believe maybe the more sensitive-types around us were concerned about something. Much more noise than a typical morning.

Joes go green policies fully support cheap fossil fuels, NOT! This is the problem you Bidenaires choose to ignore, now stand up if you voted for Biden and claim inflation like a proud voter! High fossil fuels equals crazy inflation, if Joe can’t figure this out ,then he definitely needs to stay off of bicycles and stairs.

Maybe fuel prices need to be high so people will start consuming less of it or change their purchasing decisions. I went from driving a truck getting 15 mpg (ouch) and bought a used hybrid back in April and get 53 mpg (no longer obsessed about gas prices). Do I miss the z71? Of course. But I decided I’d miss our planet more.

It’s time we all stand up to the lies the fossil fuel industry and those who make big profits off the lies (think big corporations that are mostly aligned with conservative interests) keep pumping out and demand change to clean energy before it’s too late. No need to worry about any fossil fuel reserves when our planet cooks and everything as we know it is toast.

I love my fellow people on both sides of the political spectrum, but I think it’s sad how manipulated most people on the right are. They are being lied to and they just don’t see it. That’s the real issue.

Cool, now how do the poor living paycheck to paycheck afford an EV? Bidenomics, the poor get poorer. How about them new EV semi trucks that cost 500k plus and require a 100k to 2 million dollar charger, them groceries gonna get here cheap. It’s cool to go green , just give the poor alittle time to keep up. But Bideniares don’t care, just about themselves. They can afford hybrids and evs.

My used hybrid cost less than $14k and it saves a whole bunch in gas money. I guess all those expensive big trucks out there that cost $60-80k are driven only by “Bidenaires” who can afford them and the gas money that one has to throw at them?

A lot of people (not all) I’ve met driving Teslas are wealthy Trumpers not “Bidenaires”.

It’s interesting you say “Bidenaires” only care about themselves when it’s the conservatives who continue to gut any social welfare programs put forward by progressives for those in need. That hardly seems like it’s all about themselves. I’d argue that obsessing about not paying taxes and buying everything as cheap as possible is also all about serving oneself.

Biden’s child tax credit expansion is mainly designed as an anti-poverty program. So why does so much of it (more than three-fifths) go to households that are not in poverty?

Sadly, we’re not at a point where we can operate on solar and wind power alone. Not now or any time soon. Natural gas is an alternative to oil. It’s much cleaner and more efficient.

Our economy is controlled by big business & banks, which also control the government, not vice versa. Biden is controlled as was previous guy, and the guy before him ad infinitum. You ave been seduced by the corrupt media to think that your vote matters

Actually, President Biden could reverse himself on his energy policies and put thousands of Americans back to work again. We’re sitting on huge reserves of oil and gas, only to buy them from enemies that rip us off and hold us hostage. President Biden should take a lesson from former President Trump on restoring energy production here at home. He promised to lower the price and he kept that promise. We’re not at a point where we can operate on solar and wind power now or any time soon.

OBiden is unhinged. Inflation isn’t under control and gas will soon be $7/gallon, while we just sit on our huge oil and natural gas reserves. MAGA

I don’t play your game of blue and red.

And a used EV can be purchased for about $5k. But you know this, you have an EV and solar

What paycheck to paycheck family can afford 5k, typical Bidenaire, doesn’t know what it’s like to scrap up rent and food money. 5000.00 dollars is supposed to seem cheap, I can get an ole oil burner for 350.00 bucks bud. 5k way out of price range. Park that in my hood and will be stolen by daylight. Bidenaires don’t have a clue.

Correct, I don’t vote. Why would a person vote in a candidate choosen by a bunch of politicians? The people don’t pick who will be on the ballot anymore, politicians do. So if you vote, your saying this new reality is ok, I’m not ok with it.

And, yes, I felt it in Garberville. It felt small, but obvious.
