Crews Tackle Small Vegetation Fire Near Mattole Road
Just after 11 a.m. on June 20, a walk-in report to a local fire station stated that a there was a vegetation fire in the area of Mattole Road at the cross of Lighthouse Road. An additional 911 caller stated the vegetation fire was at a nearby location. Dispatch stated they were trying to confirm the location.
Several fire engines were requested in addition to Honeydew Fire, Petrolia Fire, and the High Rock crew.
The first fire personnel on scene were unable to update on the size of the fire as they were busy in their efforts to extinguish the blaze. The second crew to the site stated the fire was approximately twenty feet by twenty feet in size and they could handle.
Dispatch canceled all incoming units.
