Ren Brownell Appointed PIO of the Klamath River Renewal Corporation

The Klamath River Renewal Corporation (KRRC) has announced the appointment of Ren Brownell as its new Public Information Officer (PIO). Ren will provide updates to Klamath communities on the progress of the dam removal project while serving as the primary contact for media inquiries.

“We are pleased to announce that Ren is joining the KRRC team,” reported Mark Bransom, KRRC’s CEO. “Ren has deep ties and experience in the Klamath region and understands the nuances of this project as well as the communities affected by it.”

Originally from Siskiyou County, Ren grew up between Scott Valley and the Klamath River. Ren holds degrees in communications from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and the University of Oregon. She has experience working with local governments, tribal nations, and communities to create effective communications and consensus to support restoration activities.

“I am honored to join the KRRC team and contribute to the restoration of the Klamath River,” said Ren. “I look forward to engaging with Klamath Basin communities, sharing timely and accurate information, and building strong relationships with media to ensure the public is aware of dam removal activities.”
