[UPDATE] Law Enforcement Pursued Suspect in a Vehicle Shooting in Eureka During Early Morning Hours

Vehicle PursuitAccording to officers speaking over the scanner, multiple law enforcement agencies chased a suspect in a gold Ford Ranger through the streets of Eureka about 12:45 a.m. The suspect had reportedly shot out the window of a PT Cruiser about 12:30 a.m. at California and West Wabash after an argument.

Speeds during the pursuit reached 95 mph, according to law enforcement reporting over the scanner to dispatch. At one point, an officer said that the suspect’s vehicle nearly struck his.

Officers were prepared to put out spike strips several times during the pursuit.

Eventually, the suspect’s vehicle stopped in front of the Shell northbound on Broadway about 12:48 p.m. a.m. The vehicle may have been disabled.

We believe one person was taken into custody but that is not confirmed.

Broadway was temporarily closed but was reopened before 1 a.m.

Nothing good happens after 12:00… My mom told me, and I keep seeing the evidence mount up…

Back in the 70’s and 80’s the nightlife scene in Humboldt was outstanding. There were lots of party bars. Nothing good happened after 10:00 PM. Bad things started happening after 11:00 PM, and were sure to happen after midnight.
I was always the first one to leave before the insanity ensued.

Suspect just needs to say he forgot to take his mental meds and it’s a free ticket out of trouble. Like a modern day “twinky defense”.

With your wildly over the top generalizations, you are unfairly giving the vast majority of the world’s approximately 8 billion perfectly functional and unoffending human anuses an undeserved bad reputation by equating all of them to the actions of this lone suspect.
