SoHum Man Arrested on Child Sexual Assault and Pornography Charges

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
A Briceland man has been taken into custody following a year-long investigation into child sexual abuse and internet crimes against children.
Over the course of this investigation, deputies identified 28-year-old Sebastion Hockett as being engaged in, manufacturing and possessing online child pornography involving at least two minor victims.
On March 30, 2023, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives conducted a search of Hockett’s Briceland residence. Hockett was located at the residence and taken into custody without incident. During a search of the residence, deputies located and seized additional evidence related to this investigation.
Hockett was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of sexual assault of a minor under 10 years old (PC 288.7(b)), sexual assault of an unconscious victim (PC 289(d)(1)) and sexual exploitation of a child (PC 311.3(a)).
Additional charges are expected to be requested as a result of today’s search warrant.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims that have not yet been identified. because they had to have the evidence to convict him. If it wasn’t enough, he could be acquitted and they could not charge him again.
There is no excuse for the trade-off of allowing it to continue and involve additional victims….

If a man was robbing banks they would not have allowed that to continue, they would have arrested him right away, just as soon as he was identified…
Letting a man continue to rob banks would be of extremely less consequence, and they do not allow that, so why this, when the additional consequences and harm are so dire for additional children…???

If this guys guilty he should never see the light of day. But there’s nothing in the story that points to him being gay or trans. In fact, the overwhelming majority of child molesters are heterosexual.

The man who had his way with my young mentally handicapped niece wore a dress every Sunday at the alter and would preach to the church. The priest was reprimanded by sending him to a different parish located at a religious college that had a history of sexual abuse. The man is still a priest in the church. As her Gay Uncle I had to come to her rescue got the priest busted and helped her through a very difficult time in her life. The church threw a large settlement of money at their problem which was needed to pay for the years of therapy and hospitalization for my niece. I find your satire highly offensive and insensitive to the gay and trans community as well as the victims of this abuse. You have no idea what our family went through or how many times we almost lost my niece.

Kym, Sebastion Hockett was arrested on a Ramey warrant. I checked with the jail staff, Hockett is on a no bail status and expect
arraignment to be delayed since he is in quarantine and will be for 5 to 7 days. Since additional charges are expected to be filed, that gives HCSO time to get the report to the DA. Hopefully, it also gives the prosecutor filing charges more time and information to file a complaint instead of having to amend it later.
Interesting, a Ramey warrant. I wonder what the reason was for that. Were they aware that he was going to do some more ugly shite in the very near future or were they worried about leaks from the DA’s office? Curious
