English is wonderful isn’t it. You can use several words to say what you mean.

Firefighters prefer involved.

Kym, have you ever consider publishing an open thread for bad jokes like this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TwJlKw56l30

I left CA in ’88 and have missed Humboldt County ever since. Even with the negatives, Eureka still feels like my “real” home and one day I’ll wake up and this self-imposed 35 year exile* will just have been a bad dream. So both this song and the original scratch an itch.

Why the asterisk?
* After graduating from HSU, the best local offer I got was “Minimum wage for six months to see if you work out.” At the time, that was $3.35/hour (estimated annual income less than $7K).

A bigger firm convinced me to move to Des Moines, Iowa for about $25K. Pretty easy choice with a crap car and student loans to pay off.

Moved several other times and spent time at about nine other companies.

Wife likes her kitchen and my current employer wants us in the office three days a week in Ohio, New Jersey, or Texas.

So I’ll be in Texas “for the duration.”
