[UPDATE 11:45 a.m.: Reopened] Route 299 Is Fully Closed Due to Snow

Caltrans District 1 reports that Hwy 299 “is fully closed from east of Blue Lake to Willow Creek (PM 7.38-38) due to snow.”

They warn that there “is currently no estimated time of reopening.”

In Trinity and Shasta County, Between Willow Creek and Redding Hwy 299 remains open but, it is very snowy and chains are required in multiple areas.

UPDATE 11:45 a.m.: Caltrans is reporting Hwy 299 has been reopened. Chains are still required in many areas between 16 miles east of Blue Lake and Willow Creek.
