Miranda Resident Faces Stroke, Cancer Diagnosis — Community Asked to Help
A long-time Miranda resident is facing a pair of serious health crises at the same time, and the people who know him are asking the community for help.
Sean O’Kane, who has lived in Miranda for years, suffered a stroke that left him blind in one eye. While still adjusting to that loss, he was diagnosed with advanced colon cancer requiring multiple surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. He has already undergone three surgeries, with more ahead, and is no longer able to work.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up on his behalf by Claire Kaufman, daughter of O’Kane’s close friend Layne Kaufman. Any donations will go toward covering O’Kane’s living expenses while he focuses on treatment and recovery.
