Today around 9:00 a.m. a road worker fell from a bridge on State Route 162 requiring an air ambulance due to the severity of his injuries.

The patient is a 36-year-old man who fell 35 feet off the side of a bridge. The Incident Commander reported the man complained of back injuries and difficulty breathing.

After paramedics hauled the patient using a spinal board to a ground ambulance, he was transferred to the air ambulance which landed in Longvale.

The incident reportedly occurred at the bridge three-quarter miles east of Highway 101, which corresponds with information from the Caltrans Quick Map that indicates crews are conducting bridge work on the Outlet Outlook Creek Bridge requiring one-way traffic.

I am concerned now. If anyone can share an update on the injured person’s status, it will be appreciated. ….Kym?
Wishing for conditions that offer a smooth and steady recovery.

It’s rare to get medical updates as medical privacy laws preclude the media from getting access.

I sure hope the worker that fell 35 feet is going to completely recover from his injuries. That was a bad fall that could have possibly killed him. Glad a chopper could transfer him to the hospital.
