A prescribed burn is taking place in the Table Bluff Lighthouse area, northwest of Loleta, on October 13th.

The prescribed burn by the CDFW and Humboldt – Del Norte Unit of Cal Fire will help reduce hazardous fuels and invasive plant species on approximately 12 acres.

Area residents may see smoke and fire personnel in the area during this time.

Glad to see more of these burns.
Was a good PBS show last night about how the Hupa uses these types of burn to keep the forests healthy.

Good fire.
