Get Vaccinated for the Flu, Urges Public Health
Press release from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH):
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) urges Californians to get vaccinated against the flu because it’s the best way to prevent serious illness and reduce the spread to others.
“Do your part to protect yourselves and your loved ones by getting vaccinated,” said Dr. Tomás J. Aragón, CDPH Director and State Public Health Officer. “Flu vaccinations keep people out of the hospital, keeping our healthcare system open to help with other illnesses during the winter.”
In California, flu activity usually begins to increase in late November or December, so everyone is recommended to get vaccinated against the flu by the end of October. It takes a couple of weeks after vaccination for the body to build an immunity. Flu and COVID-19 vaccines may be administered concurrently, so do not hesitate to get boosted or immunized against COVID-19 when receiving your flu shot.
CDPH recommends the annual flu vaccination for everyone six months of age and older. Those at higher risk of getting severe flu disease include:
- People 65 years and older.
- People who smoke or have underlying medical conditions like diabetes, heart disease, asthma, lung disease, neurologic disorders, and weakened immune systems.
- People who are pregnant and children under five years of age.
- African Americans, Latinx and Native populations, who are disproportionally affected by chronic medical conditions that can increase the risk for severe flu or COVID-19.
- Caregivers and residents in long-term care facilities.
- Employees who work with the public.
CDPH encourages Californians to contact their health care provider, physician’s office or clinic about getting the flu vaccine. Adults may also find flu vaccine appointments at a pharmacy. Pharmacies usually accept most insurance, including Medi-Cal. Some local health departments may also offer low- or no-cost flu immunizations.
“Call your doctor or pharmacist to get vaccinated against flu today,” said Dr. Aragón. “We are stronger when we are all protected.”
Besides getting immunized, you can also take everyday preventive actions to stop the spread of germs:
- Stay home when sick.
- Cough or sneeze into your elbow, arm, or disposable tissue. If you use disposable tissue, use hand sanitizer, or wash your hands afterwards.
- Wash hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and warm water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.

How about we focus on health without injections.
Don’t see a problem myself..If you don’t want it don’t get it………
Watch the loony tunes come out for the “vaccine” article.
They are so scared ? they can’t not comment on vaccines!
How can your ineffective vaccine not work if you don’t take it? It’s only common sense.
No need for a flu shot if you’ve had Covid.
You now have broad immunity against a large and diverse family of coronaviruses.

Flu is caused by influenza virus, not coronavirus.
What? It’s not mandatory? All politicians suck arse, haven’t seen a proposed bill yet that gave everyone a permanent tax cut. How about we start with eliminating sales tax, since we already paid income tax on that money.
Where did I park my bicycle? I need this shot, what did you say it was for again? Do I get any money this time for being part of the research project? Sheet ,I need some tp quick, better get me a 3 wheel bike with a big basket.
I thought the flu got wiped out in the U.S. ?, No cases for 3 years.
You thought wrong. There were cases every year the last 3 years, just fewer due to altered behavior.

Suuuure, and foolishly extend the same liability protection being provided to the flu vaccine manufacturers, that is being provided to the COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers in the process?
That would be stupid.
Because if you foolishly get your COVID and flu shots at the same time, and you have a reaction of any kind, you cannot possibly properly or reasonably, attribute it to one vaccine or the other…
If you can attribute it to just the flu vaccine, (because you have gotten just the flu vaccine), you may be entitled to some recompense.
Get the flu vaccine and the covid vaccine,(booster), at once, and you can kiss that possibility goodbye.
You’ll be S.O.L. (Shit outta luck.)
If you get a reaction to the covid vaccine, (and you have only gotten the covid vaccine, (booster),), you’re still shit out of luck as far as recompense, but you will have learned an important lesson.
Therefore, getting both vaccines at once is a stupid suggestion.
It’s too early to get the flu vaccine, so it’s best to wait to get it, but you should get it first, then get the covid shot after, if it’s your intention to do both, hopefully after not getting a flu vaccine reaction.
COVID cases have come down 25% in the last 2 weeks, in adults, who are eligible for the booster.
(Up 10% in children in that time frame, to be fair, but “children” includes maybe 50% that aren’t even eligible for a booster…)
Flu season is relevant in late November, and the recommendation is to be vaccinated against it by the end of October.
So where is the urgency to get vaccinated against both in early September, 6 weeks early for the flu season, and God only knows how prematurely, for only the ” dubious” fear of an ‘anticipated surge’ that is imaginary” at this point?
(It’s bullshit.)
This is bad advice, IMNSHO, so get a second opinion from your doctor, and get it in writing.
It’s COVID misinformation, as far as I am concerned.
Did Newsom sign the “COVID-19 misinformation consequences” bill, or did he veto it?
I will double-check.
If he signed it, I’d say that, in my opinion, this press release violates it.
If so, they should face consequences.
Apparently, it hasn’t happened yet…
So the CDPH isn’t taking any risk with it’s current COVID-19 misinformation, nor it’s present COVID-19 misinformation…
Is that what Newsom is waiting for, to sign it after CDPH dupes everyone, so that CDPH faces no consequences?…
‘Thousands of Californians Write Gov. Newsom to Veto COVID Misinformation Bill’
https://www.cnsnews.com/article/national/micky-wootten/thousands-californians-write-gov-newsom-veto-covid-misinformation
“According to the AAPS website, “Physicians must not be coerced into blindly following the establishment ‘consensus’ and refraining from entering into debate that is crucial to advancing both science and rational public health policies.” ”
” “Such a policy would be harmful to the welfare of California patients, the integrity of the medical profession, and the wellbeing of the entire state,” writes the AAPS.”
Nahhhh. I’ll pass, again.
Only taken it once when working in a very challenging environment, and to be a ‘good employee’. Otherwise, after hearing many times that ‘they have to guess before the current flu strain arrives, and often that they guess wrong’.
Then there’s the current awareness of how some vaccines are ‘marketed’ in large part to create profits for the DRUG companies….
Nahhhh.
Yep, they had to guess, twice, which COVID strain to develop the new COVID booster before the next COVID strain arrives, and they still guessed wrong.
Probably also true of the flu vaccine strain that they want to give you, at the same, premature time, (before you can realize it).
