Veteran Green Diamond Employees Selected for Top Leadership Roles

This is a press release from the Green Diamond Resource Company:

Green Diamond Resource Company officials announced [recently] Jason Carlson will fill the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the company and Pete Jackson will take the position of vice president and general manager for Green Diamond’s California operations.

Jason Carlson

Carlson replaces the current COO Neal Ewald, who is retiring at the end of June.

“We did an exhaustive internal and external search for the Neal’s replacement, big shoes that are hard to fill, and concluded that Jason is the best candidate to take on the role of chief operating officer for Green Diamond,” said Douglas Reed, president of Green Diamond Resource Company. “Jason is a seasoned veteran who will be able to step in and lead without missing a beat. Our entire team is delighted by this choice, and we look forward to him continuing to be an integral part of our team for years to come.”

Carlson brings extensive experience serving Green Diamond as a senior business analyst in the Business Planning Group in Seattle, log and chip sales manager for Oregon Operations, and as the general manager for the company’s wood chip export business in California, and most recently serving as vice president and general manager of Green Diamond’s California Timberlands.

Peter Jackson

Pete Jackson will fill the position of vice president and general manager for California Operations.

“We always want the best and brightest leading our Green Diamond teams, and I’m proud to say that when we look internally, we find those qualities in employees like Pete,” Reed said. “Pete is an intelligent and thoughtful leader. In his 23-year tenure at Green Diamond, he has demonstrated a commitment to our core values of safety, integrity, stewardship, and community. Our work is complex and highly visible in communities where we own and manage land. Having a familiar face with a stellar track record over decades is good for the company and those who interact with us regularly.”

Jackson began his career with Green Diamond as a forestry/surveying technician in 1999 and has worked as a Land Surveyor, Log Sales and Marketing Manager, Log Sales and Chip Facility Manager, and most recently the Operations and Sales Manager for California Operations. Jackson is also a leader in the community, having served on several boards including the Blue Lake Volunteer Fire Department, Pacific Logging Congress, North Coast Regional Land Trust, Mountain Western Log Scaling and Grading Bureau, and has been an active volunteer in the local high school Future Farmers of America program.

Carlson and Jackson begin the duties in their new roles July 1.
