1,900 Pounds of Processed But Illegal Cannabis Found After Alleged Home Invasion Attempt by Multiple Suspects in Gualala

This is a press release from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:Attempted home invasion feature purchased from Matt LaFever

On 01-18-2022 at approximately 2:45 p.m., the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call from a person who reported they were a victim of a physical assault and were currently at a residence in the 45000 block of Seaside School Road in Gualala, California.

The reported victim described multiple subjects that were currently on his property armed with firearms, one of which firearms was identified as an AR-15 rifle.  The reported victim identified “Yuri” as a subject who was trying to kill him.

Law enforcement officers with the California Highway Patrol and California State Parks responded following a request for assistance from responding Deputies.  A reverse 9-1-1 was issued to alert nearby residents to shelter in place.

While responding, Deputies received updated information that the reported victim escaped and was now in the 38000 block of Old Stage Road in Gualala.

It was reported a friend to the reported victim was still inside the residence with the armed subjects, and the current state of his welfare was unknown.

At approximately 4:07 p.m., Deputies and an officer with the California Highway Patrol arrived on scene (Seaside School Road) and began to approach the residence on foot.

During that approach and from a distance, Deputies observed a male subject wearing white pants and a black hooded sweatshirt running away from the residence towards Old Stage Road.  As Deputies further approached the residence they observed another male subject who was compliant with Deputies and he was detained.

As additional law enforcement arrived on scene, a perimeter was established to secure the scene and law enforcement entry was made inside the residence to search for any possible victim(s).  No other persons were located and Deputies initiated an investigation into the reported incident.

During the course of the investigation, Deputies determined the location was being utilized for an unlawful/non-permitted cannabis cultivation and was an apparent factor to the reported physical assault and persons reported to be present on the property.

Deputies sought and served a search warrant at the location for any evidence having a nexus to the reported assault and the cannabis cultivation.

During the service of that warrant, Deputies located and seized approximately 1,900-pounds of processed cannabis.

Deputies and California State Parks Law Enforcement personnel continued a search of the area throughout the night for any other involved parties without success.

Deputies identified a person named Yuri Andrade as a person of interest.

No arrests were made and this investigation is ongoing.  No further details are available for public release at the present time.

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office would request that anyone that has information concerning this incident and/or knows the identity of those involved, to call 707-961-2421 and reference case number 2022-01419.

Serious question. Does the evidence room have any protocol for track and tracing the seized product? From what I’ve seen they supposedly just bury it in a “yard” somewhere. They don’t burn it. Where does it go? Also Andrade is a familiar name. Any relation to Jeff?

//Deputies determined the location was being utilized for an unlawful/non-permitted cannabis cultivation.//

No track n trace in traditional market. It follows the same protocol as asset seizure. Unless theirs corruption it will get buried or incinerated at some crematorium.

I really really really wanna see where that 1900 lbs goes. Track and trace it!

It’s going to a bottom of a well I’m sure of that and that well leads to bank accounts off shore.

I watched the deposition of Bruce smith. What did he say? “oh yah we buried it” uhhuh ok Brucey. I believe that. You seem very credible.

Ummm…wow. Cripe. These guys. Took a long time and a lot of supplies to grow and trim that pile. Storing that much in general is a challenge, oxidation issues, space, mold, THC degradation, etc. No surprize nary a soul was caught. Are they consistently…NO. Truly, majority of the mega busts like this have no consequences, no arrests. Find another spot no problem. Yet…there is a PROBLEM sitting on 1900 pounds. The worse the market, lower the price, bigger the grows. Elementary! Have dispensaries sitting on 2 years worth of pre roll product right now. With just the sheer amounts out there NOBODY could grow the next five years and there’d still be plenty around albeit 100% schwag by that point.

THC doesn’t degrade until the wax-like lipid is broken. Then it just gets rancid, a good example is a vape pen does not maintain its flavor and starts tasting nasty the closer it gets to empty. This is because corporate extracts with CO2 as opposed to Butane.
All because they think the customer wants a 99% THC Pen. Butane pen will only get ya 30 to 70% THC depending on cutting agent and maintain Terpene profile from beginning to end (ya gotta use the right cutting agent though that can handle high temperatures without losing flavor). All the other issues you mention are resolved with a proper room large enough and maintaing proper environmentals. The difference is in a product lasting is based upon the glycoproteins (I am generalizing using that fancy word) the plant absorbs and how it absorbs. Oxidation is not a bad thing that’s where the smell comes from, again generlizing, but does begin the buds plant material degrading.

Who likes brown product when you’re looking at it oxidation is a big problem. Have found in the laboratory that yes THC does degrade prior to the wax lipid proteins being broken with seat. Any heat applied that’s another influencing situation.

The smell comes from the terpenes. Been banging on that microscope in the lab with cannabis for 30 years. There are a lot of factors of influence on product. Although, each one may be small, if you combine them it can definitely have a significant effect on the storing of your product. As far as the hundred percent THC or the higher THC cartridges. It’s actually quite necessary to have a balance within your product we have found. If you strip balancing components out it can cause psychiatric issues, cardiac issues without the totality of the other components. Never been a fan of the artificial sugars or flavors no need if you have fine product it tastes fantastic no smoke n mirrors required to up the appeal.

Lab, Pfft!!! I prefer the uncontrolled environment, lol. I am only mess in much respect for banging on the scope for so long. I Been extracting since back in the panty hose days. Our extractions have not been above 140 degrees for at least a few decades and we have some products below 75 degrees all full terpene profile. We don’t use CO2 mother nature got it right.

The glycoprotein reference is the difference in growing styles and affects the plants ability to make Trichomes. We don’t feed it sugar we help the plant breakdown the sugar. This is why I call DEP and Indoor Feeders and why I don’t consider them growers or farmers.

I didn’t write it found it on inter-web. Explains what I mean pretty quickly and gets to the point. I did have to combine studies but root hair and Trichome development go hand in hand. As such;

The genetic control of patterning of trichomes and roots hairs shares similar control mechanisms. Both processes involve a core of related transcription factors that control the initiation and development of the epidermal outgrowth. Activation of genes that encode specific protein transcription factors (named GLABRA1 (GL1), GLABRA3 (GL3) and TRANSPARENT TESTA GLABRA1 (TTG1))

During the formation of trichomes and root hairs, many enzymes are regulated. For example, just prior to the root hair development, there is a point of elevated phosphorylase activity.

“”Posphorylases are enzymes that catalyze the addition of a phosphate group from an inorganic phosphate (phosphate+hydrogen) to an acceptor.

A-B + P ⇌ A + P-B

They include allosteric enzymes that catalyze the production of glucose-1-phosphate from a glucan such as glycogen, starch or maltodextrin.”

I am gonna go with their research study since it’s their job until you submit your comment for review. Then I will do as others to determine if your hypothesis has any relevant basis.

How is this much moved around — to Chicago or Cleveland or wherever its going? This is nearly a ton and I doubt its moved 50 lbs at a time in car trunks. A rented U-haul or cargo trailer seems a near certainty to get busted on the interstate.

Actually, from a police standpoint, they see u-hauls all day long. They all have Arizona plates. Even if they are moving drugs, there’s a 50+% chance it will be empty as and they are returning it or going to pick them up. And most of the time, it’s just people moving. I have never been pulled over in a u-haul, and I’ve been riding dirty almost every time.

Common for California……. The only other place I know where a hour response time is acceptable is Alaska and for how many police I see on the road this is laughable. I’ve seen on your sight these absolutely hilarious response times on multiple crimes. The good people here wonder why it’s rampant with crime its because the criminals know 95% of the time nothing will happen to them. The sheriff is a joke that can’t hire enough people the county is a even bigger joke that can’t even decide if it’s Wednesday or Tuesday. When will the actual good people here say enough? What it’s going to take to get some order in our county? This booo hoooo they had a tough life excuse is old the court system is really responsible. Look through your news articles as a outsider and you will see we live in the butt crack of the United States. Mendocino and Humboldt are the biggest corrupt dingle berrys I’ve ever seen
