Searchers Looked Yesterday for Missing Mother and Child and Will Look Again Today

Trinity Brey and her son, three-year-old Anthony Florentine-Perez
Yesterday, family and friends of missing woman Trinity Brey joined law enforcement as well as a search and rescue team in northern Mendocino. Today teams will search again.
According to Jolene Evans, a friend of the family, she and Julie, the missing woman’s adopted mother, as well as another friend showed up between 8 and 8:30 a.m. but were soon joined by Officer Logan of the Mendocino Sheriff’s Office and his K-9 as well as a CHP officer.
On November 30, Trinity Brey, her three-year-old son, Anthony Florentine-Perez, and a male friend, Steven Gutierrez, were headed north on Hwy 101 when the vehicle that Brey was driving collided with a tree on the east side of the road for unknown reasons not too far south of Confusion Hill. Gutierrez received major injuries in the crash. Brey took her son and began walking north, according to a witness. Before officers arrived at the scene, Brey and her son were gone. She hasn’t been seen since and her phone goes to voice mail.
Evans told us, that Officer Logan walked the dog around the area first hoping to catch the scent of the missing mother and child. But, she said, nothing was located.

But nothing was found. Attempts to call Brey’s phone continue to be unsuccessful.
“They are planning to look again tomorrow,” Evans explained. “SAR is coming back tomorrow. A great bunch of people I can’t stress enough how wonderful everybody is…Julie and I are going to arrive early so we don’t miss anything.”
She explained that having a group of people assist in the search was comforting. “I can’t stress enough how thankful I am,” she told us. “At first I was feeling pretty helpless but then people started showing up. I haven’t slept we’re just worried.”

That is a very dangerous section of road, almost impossible to walk East, there is a steep canyon and she had a toddler with her, chances are that she walked West crossing 101 which would be towards the Eel River which is barely flowing. She could have injured herself and is unable to make it back to roadway. I am interested in knowing what her premonitions about leaving the scene of the accident were; was she frightened about persecution and arrest for one reason or another? The article mentions that possibly the driver had no license. Also mentioned was that she was seeking help since there is no cell phone coverage in that particular area.
Based on past experiences including the death of Reggie in the Willits Laytonville area after he crashed and was left out in the cold to freeze to death from exposure, I would 2 things: she is within 1 mile of the crash and injured near the water, or somebody picked her up and she is in hiding for fear of prosecution, Or something more sinister , possibly picked up by a dangerous person.
I have this gut feeling she is within one mile radius if she was injured, may take walking grid patterns… is there solid proof she was actually driving and walked away, first place to start!
Your speculation and curiosity (what was she thinking) are repugnant
Yes I think it’s weird the dogs didn’t get a scent. Was the witness the injured guy in the car? Did they check out her house and stuff? Did she have her purse when she walked off on foot?If the witness wasn’t the guy in the car then why didn’t they stop them. It’s easy to get turned around in the woods. Even a short distance. Very scary and urgent because a small child is involved.
I heard on the scanner that Southern Humboldt Technical Rescue was called out for a medical rescue assist at mile marker 98 off highway 101 by Confusion Hill. I hope they found the lady and her boy!!
At what time?
Around 8:30 am Thurs, morning. SHTR dispatched to assist with “Medical Rescue”
It was about 8 this morning the scanner is radio reference
Mother and child found safe five days after accident https://lostcoastoutpost.com/2020/dec/4/missing-mom-and-three-year-old-found-safe-highway/
What scanner are you listening to?
Do they need more people to search?
Probably more the better!!! Just contact the local fire department and get further information
I remember when two little girls were lost (was it only last year?) Seems like everybody and their cousin was out there looking. Bloodhounds and rescue groups….what is different today? Does the community feel differently because this mother & child are not local? WTFF?
Are you out there searching, and just taking a break to comment?
The article says they have SAR, sheriff’s, K9, and civilians searching.
Everyone is hoping that this ends well.
They have a few searchers… not enough!!!!!!!! These SAR groups are not always as productive as they could be. Volunteers could make a tremendous difference. Locals know this area!
13 people showed up. I can read. I am an elderly homebound person Dinky. Are you out searching?
Just curious, since you had so much judgement ☺️ I’m not out there, but I’m also not complaining about circumstances and protocol and strategies I know nothing about. I’m just thankful people ARE looking. And I continue to be hopeful.
She is a local. Shes lived out there for almost 20 years now
Hoping for the best!
I drove by there is a very little search effort happening. Just A few search and rescue people it blows my mind why aren’t they searching all over the east side of the mountain near the crash site??? . Its pretty simple to me . she got scared took the little boy ran up the mountain Way too far and probably got lost in the very heavily wooded area. Searchers instead , are looking on the opposite side of the road near the river!! WTF? Makes no sense they’re wasting time!!! Family needs to push to have more search and rescue come out or a giant group of volunteers!! We’re on day 3. Time is running out!
If you are not part of the search crew you have no idea what is going on. Maybe join your own search and rescue group so you can actually be part of something rather than driving by contesting the area Looky loo ing around.. I am sure they are actually looking all over not just where your pretty little eyes can see.
Actually I know exactly what I’m talking about . and I know the area very well. let’s keep in mind SAR searched for days for the missing girls a year ago… finally a local found them.. that should tell you something! This woman and child could be anywhere and they only have 13 people out??? And a dog or two?
Are you out there? You are the hero everyone is looking for. Maybe you should let us know what to do? Please help us you amazing know it all. 13 people that actually know what they are doing are actually out there doing something
And a dog or two. But not you…
I went down there today. It didn’t seem like too many people were searching. It’s very steep terrain. I was trying to find a volunteer group to search with. I walked down below the RV Park along the river I didn’t see anyone searching.
Please let me know if there’s a group I can join my number 707-223-3133
Make contact with leggett fire or piercy they are searching.
I wonder if she did not have a head injury from the accident. I have seen that before. For some eeason they wonder off into the brush. Some kind.of instencet i dont know but seen it more than once. Hope for the best
Very dangerous road edge. Saw someone in the ER years back that pulled over to pee and fell 200 feet down towards the river, at what is now the south end of the bridges
Would it help to let MEDIA know we are only interested in her safety and well being. (of course her child, too) WE ALL WISH for this to have a happy ending, we hope they are FOUND safe. THIS IS ALL THAT REALLY MATTERS. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO TURN YOURSELF IN, IF U CAN.
