[UPDATE 11:35 p.m.] Vehicle on Fire, One Trapped Near Intersection With Hwy 3 on Hwy 36
A vehicle crashed about 11:08 p.m. off of Hwy 36 near the intersection with Hwy 3. According to reports from emergency personnel at the scene, one occupant was unconscious and trapped with a possible broken leg. Then the vehicle caught fire.
A medical helicopter was requested but Reach declined the job because of concerns over weather.
Post Mountain Fire and Hayfork Fire plus Cal Fire are responding to the scene.

UPDATE 11:31 p.m.: According to personnel at the scene, they were able to extinguish the fire.
UPDATE 11:35 p.m.: According to the Incident Commander, the vehicle is 35 feet over the edge, and the patient has been removed. He again requested a medical helicopter.

Glad to read they got the injured man out of the vehicle, and put out the fire. Reach Med Flight Service better get its act together. The weather did not seem to be a problem at that time. What did they do when he requested their service the second time? I am a Reach member, and this type of action is giving me second thoughts.
Agreeing with you there. I too would like to know what the reason was last night? And yes what happened to the second response. I was not a happy resident of Hayfork knowing they didn’t come and get that person.
I too am curious about the second request for Reach. I know a Reach helecopter pilot. Seems strange to me it was denied as well…
