UPDATE 11:10 a.m.: Press release from the Humboldt County OES:

Evacuation warnings and orders remain in effect for southern Humboldt County as fire crews work to contain the Hopkins Fire, just east of the county line. The Humboldt County Hopkins Fire Emergency Operations Center continues to staff a Fire Evacuation Information Line at 707-268-2500 for questions regarding current county evacuations and resources.

CURRENT SITUATION

As of 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, the Hopkins Fire has not jumped the Eel River and has not entered Humboldt County. Fire crews continue working today to keep the fire east of the Eel River and out of the county away from populated areas. No containment estimate has been established.

The United States Forest Service has reclassified a portion of the Hopkins Fire as the August Complex West Zone, which is being managed by Cal Fire. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services will continue referring to this fire as the Hopkins Fire, until otherwise advised by Cal Fire.

NEW MAPPING TOOL

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services today released an interactive map of Humboldt County in relation to the Hopkins Fire (August Complex West Zone) incident, viewable at humboldtgov.org/evacmap.

The purpose of this map is to display evacuation zones, warning zones and other important resources related to the fire.

This map includes Temporary Evacuation Points, community centers, water stations, road closures and evacuation routes in addition to detailing the Evacuation Order Zones, Evacuation Warning Zones and approximate location of the Hopkins Fire (August Complex West Zone).

This map will continue to be updated with new information daily. Please ensure that you periodically refresh the map to view the latest version. The map is also available on the Humboldt County Sheriff’s web page (humboldtsheriff.org).

The search feature, indicated by the magnifying glass icon, allows users to input their address or the address of loved ones, and view in real time their physical location in reference to warning and evacuation zones.

The map is shareable via social media, email and text by clicking “share” on the upper left hand of the map text box.

*Disclaimer: this map does display Mendocino County fire information, which Humboldt County staff will update as available. For the most current map information for Mendocino County, visit https://tinyurl.com/MendoEvac/. County staff will also continue to update the location of the August Complex as quickly as possible. For the most current information, please visit the Inciweb page for this incident.

The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services would like to thank the Humboldt County Planning & Building for lending their skills and expertise in creating and updating this valuable map resource.

It is good. Unfortunately Google no longer recognizes my device as mine and has eliminated my access to Google Play so I can’t fix it. Is there any other access?

this map is not acurate i live out alderpoint road and cal fire told me that the fire had passed up ruth lake and was heading west two days ago and that the fire was spot fireing two to three miles ahead and if this map is acurate then there would be no reason to have bridgeville under imediate evacuation

We want answes

That’s exactly what I’m saying and there’s no reason to have bell springs blocked off to people who live out there and need to get their animals. I tried 2 days ago to get my animals off that hill and the cops have it all blocked off in garberville. My uncle knows a capital of one of the fire departments in charge of the aug fire and he said it’s not over the river so why are we being denied access to our property and our animals ..

Residents please have eyes open especially for out of state plates or suspicious activity. Oregon scanner reports say multiple arsonists being caught on freeways throwing molotovs, prowling neighborhoods and generally starting fires everywhere.

This ain’t over.

here is an example of newtube.app. i am not saying people will hate you but they will hate you if you continue this disinformation. maybe the US can make disinformation a felony, then you can’t vote – see how that works. brace yourself, the future will be very different but it will be a product of your actions.

It amazes me that someone can read a rumor like that and without investigating further ‘say yeah that sounds about right’ and accept it as truth. There is an incredible book called the Four Agreements that details the teachings of the Toltecs, an advanced tribe in Mexico that had far greater wisdom than we do today. The most important agreement we must make with ourselves, others and God is “Be Impeccable With Your Word”. Impeccable’s root is ‘without sin’. And the greatest form of not being impeccable and instead with sin is malicious rumors and gossip. This was seen as the worst thing someone could do to others and their community. Numero Uno sin of all. And the reason. It’s something that there is no defense for until it has taking root in the community and can destroy people’s lives and cause them great harm. In Catholicism it would be called a mortal sin.

And the antifa rumor is an example. There are people out there that hate anyone who opposes fascism in any form, not just the extreme left groups and their giving in to violent protests. They even lump BLM in with extreme left groups. This rumor may never be questioned by them, and it has sunk into the depths of their unaware minds, adding fuel to their hatred, something that could cause the truly ignorant to do what.

This world needs to rise up, above this kind of rumor mongering. Above spreading lies, and learn to be Impeccable.
