Ice Cream Social Being Held at Redwood Village

13308323_812680445503192_8717762483367851650_oOn Thursday, June 23rd, from 6-7:30 PM, Redwood Village Shopping Center will be the site of a fun, ice cream social put on by the Eel Valley Crime Stoppers, Pacific Coast Security, and local Neighborhood Watch members from Scotia, Rio Dell and Ferndale.

From their event page:

Redwood Village Shopping Center is opening their doors and allowing us to hold an open house and ice cream social at the old Linda’s Hallmark site. Please join members of the EVCS, local Neighborhood Watch programs, officers from Pacific Coast Security and Chief Dobberstein of the Fortuna Police Department. Also on hand will be representatives from River Life Foundation and our local foster care program!

Thanks to our generous community, we will have several door prizes!!!

We will have information on hand about our programs, safety and security, volunteer opportunities, Foster care information as well as some delicious ice cream treats to enjoy. I heard a rumor that Scruff McGruff was also going to make an appearance so he could take photos with anyone interested.

It’s a great night to get out there and do some shopping as well as meet your neighbors. Please join us!

This free event has received door prize donations from CR Athletics, Figueiredo’s Video Movies, Jenni Rexford with Jamberry Nails, Katie Ellebrecht with Cornerstone Realty, Melissa’s Purdy Pups, Nancy Millard of You Deserve It, Hoppy’s FroYo, Burger King, Sequoia Gas, John Ford Insurance, and Ewe So Dirty.  Private citizens have also donated the ice cream, root beer and paper goods.

It’s truly a community minded event and hopefully a great way to bring neighbors of the Eel River Valley together.

Just occurred to me the only problem I foresee with our neighborhoods is that you’re dividing a voting block/district Fortuna is locked in there with Southern Humboldt so while their issues may be different our representative is the same .
