Although the MP-21 fire burning about two miles south of Weitchpec remained mostly quiet yesterday, a California Incident Management Team (IMT 11) assumed command this morning.

According to the Northern California Geographic Coordination Center, the fire which started Monday morning remains at about 150 acres burning through timber and brush and is 30% contained.

“Fire continues to threaten high value timberland, cultural resources and Trinity River and Bull Creek Water Shed,” the Center reports. “Intermittent controlled traffic is in place on Hwy-96.”

[edit] It’s not just a campfire. Fuels, weather and topography dictate the course of action. You show ZERO knowledge of how to fight fire.
