I’m assuming he was headed towards Garberville from Redway and took that turn a little too fast. Good thing the CHP station is only 2 mins away.
It’s because that girl hit him. Caused him (driving legally) to hit her. And was she ever charged, tried or convicted?
Yea…. what did happened to that 16 yo girl making that illegal u-turn.. I also cringe when i drive by there…freaks me out…. I hope someone pursued prosecuting her…. but knowing our county, I doubt it…
Youths driving around here should be taught … “risk analysis” and “knowing your limitations”
I still think about Leo’s family
No she didn’t! She still lives in redway.
No she didn’t
I think it is easy to see the driver could have been traveling south bound and slid across the northbound lane to hit the sign and pole possibly from taking the corner too fast.
Or, if driving northbound, distracted by the phone & and looked up just in time to see he had drifted off the side of the road.
Either way it is a real gamble being the other dirver on the road.
There needs to be some kind of function on the phones that shuts them down when people are driving and can only be accessed if you stop on the side of the road.
I see way too many people driving too fast or swerving in their lanes and notice they are looking at their devices.
what were they driving
I also wondered about that young girl. She only had her license fir two weeks. I know Leos wife Sandra, she didnt want to press charges. But they shouldve anyway.
