Look up Janes Mansfield. DOT bars are now standard equipment.

Which is why underride guards are federally required…

*waits for someone to chime in about how underride guards are unconstitutional and destroying freedom, because it is obviously absolutely unacceptable to require people to take measures to protect others*

Fun fact: Jayne Mansfield was not decapitated, however, her brains squirted out the top of her head when her skull was crushed.

Broad daylight and he drives right into a stopped truck, and they already ruled out drugs or alcohol?

I went by this right after it happened. The MG did not go under the back of the truck. It got as far under as the bottom of the windshield. Good thing trucks have those bars down low to prevent smaller vehicles going under the back. Bad thing the car didn’t have air bags.

And yeah, what happened? Perfect conditions and it was on a straight stretch, not hiding around a corner. I hope they are ok.

It certainly gave me some perspective driving for the rest of the day. We get caught up in our routines but this made me slow down a bit. Better safe than sorry.

People need to pay attention to the construction signs and message board that states…… ROAD CONSTRUCTION AHEAD, ONE LANE ROAD AHEAD, FLAGGER AHEAD. This man was going a little to fast in my opinion…. Yes I was a flagger on that road today.

Sounds like the two gents in the MG were going faster than the needed stopping distance. People please slow down in construction zones, you never know what is waiting around the next corner.
