I thought this might be the reason two CHP cars drove through Alderpoint and across the bridge over the Eel, sirens wailing. If so, and if this accident is on 36, they took a very long way around. I wonder what the sirens were about.
Oh no! R.I.P. Driver. My condolences to all your loved ones.
CHP says “20 1144 CATTLE”. Either that was a really hard crash, or it wasn’t found right away…
I got the feeling it wasn’t found right away, as the CHP incident page indicated the vehicle was only viewable from the bridge if you got out of a vehicle. Likely nobody saw it for a while.
Surprising then that there wasn’t a missing person report and a search… A rancher with a full stock trailer is a lot more likely to be noticed missing than a random out-of-state trimmer…
Your feeling is incorrect, he was found by people who knew him and were at the ranch with him that day
I’m so sorry to hear ?best wishes to the family and friends
It was known about right away.
It was a cattle truck
I think the scanner said it had a cattle trailer on back of truck, hoping no critters were in trailer!
Sorry to hear the person was deceased. Hope there was no suffering before they passed. Highway 36 is just not a safe road to travel on, but what are people going to do, it is all there is. If that road was in the bay area it would be a four lane freeway by now. Thank you to the first responders.
TY first responders & CHP it’s so true the Bay Area & Southern California would never put up with road conditions similar to Hwy 36.
It was 4 miles up Alderpoint Rd. from Bridgeville not 36
Hi Guest, what road is Bridgeville on, if not 36? Or, do you mean Blocksburg? Still, I’m with Mary Alice. Why speed through Alderpoint, sirens blaring, if the accident was more than 20 miles away and already over?
It was 4 miles from the Bridgeville, on Hwy 36, & Alderpoint Road Junction, I think, is what was meant here!!! I could be wrong but that’s my take on it!!!
Why speed through Alderpoint? Well , my guess the officers was in Garberville!!! So I guess they should have driven back up the 101 (40 minutes away) , turn off on highway 36 and drive another 25 minutes, Yeah that makes sense, jesus christ. Instead of “downing ” the police, maybe you should Volunteer for them .
I love how people constantly talk bad about everything on her ( especially accidents) my Goodness, someone’s family member is deceased.
Exactly. Some responding officers came from Garberville. To expedite their response they used sirens to warn people of their high rate of speed. Why people don’t get this is beyond me. So what, so they passed thru Alderpoint with their sirens on…
But if the police took too long for your standards then you would complain. Good job Ed your part of the problem.
The accident was 4 miles up AP road from Bridgeville. Yes Bridgeville is close to 36.
There could have been animals that needed dispatching.
~heartbreaking. Just heartbreaking.
