The man arrested after Friday morning’s reported hit-and-run in Miranda appears to have been booked on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Humboldt County jail booking log. ‘Far From Over’: Sheriff Says Miranda’s Rescue Investigation Enters New Phase as Investigators Process Recovered Microchips

The digging may be over, but the investigation may be only beginning. Sheriff William Honsal says the case is “far from over” as investigators begin processing recovered microchip information. At the same time, Sacramento County Animal Care Services says it has served a legal demand seeking the return of dogs it says were wrongfully transferred to the rescue.
