CHP Helicopter Airlifts Injured Person From Remote South Fork Trinity River Area

According to information from radio traffic, Southern Trinity Fire responded to the incident, where the victim was located in steep terrain requiring a technical rescue.
Radio traffic indicated that a U.S. Forest Service Battalion Chief advised the California Highway Patrol’s H-14 helicopter that rescuers had finished packaging the patient for transport. H-14 then hoisted the victim from the scene and departed to rendezvous with REACH Air Medical Services’ REACH 5 helicopter for transfer to definitive medical care.
The circumstances surrounding how the person received the knife wound have not been confirmed, and the victim’s condition has not been released.

Sounds like a pretty serious knife wound. Thank you to the CHP crew of chopper H-14 for transporting the man to a waiting REACH AIR chopper 5 for transport to medical care. I hope he makes it to the hospital.
