Ukiah Man Arrested After Allegedly Returning to Home He Was Ordered to Avoid
This is a press release from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent unless proven guilty:
On 07/01/2026 at approximately 1:40 P.M., Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of Deerwood Drive in Ukiah for a reported unwanted subject trespassing at a residence. Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies contacted the reporting party, a 76-year-old Ukiah woman.
The reporting party informed Sheriff’s Deputies that her family member, identified as Tobias Wood, arrived at the residence without permission and was prohibited from being there pursuant to an active court order issued by the Superior Court of Mendocino County.
Sheriff’s Deputies located Wood and confirmed the court order, which prohibited him from coming within 100 yards of the residence. Sheriff’s Deputies also determined that Wood was on active Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for 29800(a)(1) PC – Possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
During their contact with Wood, Sheriff’s Deputies observed objective signs consistent with Wood recently using a controlled substance. Based on their observations and subsequent evaluation, Sheriff’s Deputies determined Wood was under the influence of a controlled substance, in violation of the terms and conditions of his PRCS.
Sheriff’s Deputies established there was probable cause to arrest Wood for 3455 PC – Violation of Community Supervision, 11550(a) HS – Under the influence of a controlled substance, and 166.4 PC – Violation of a court order. Wood was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Mendocino County Jail where he is being held on a no bail status.
