Prayers. These types of situations can be the beginning of lifelong disability.
Decades ago Doctor sent a mamma home he didn’t think she was close enough.
10 minutes down the road had a traumatic rapid birth and baby suffered with Cerebral Palsy after. If your birthing at home get to help ASAP dont wait if stuff is too much, to fast, too long. Praying and manifesting safe births for all. ❤️

Most common causes of cerebral palsy are not associated with traumatic birth.
what is the most common cause of cerebral palsy

+8

The main cause of cerebral palsy (CP) is abnormal brain development or damage to the developing brain, which usually occurs before or around the time of birth. In most cases, the exact reason for this brain injury remains unknown. [1, 2, 3]
Because the causes vary by timing and origin, they are generally broken down into specific categories: [1]

1. Prenatal Causes (Before Birth – 85% to 90% of cases)
Most CP cases are congenital, caused by events during fetal development, including: [1]

  • Maternal Infections: Infections like cytomegalovirus (CMV), rubella, herpes, and Zika virus can cross to the fetus and trigger inflammation that damages the developing brain.
  • Fetal Stroke: Disruptions in blood flow or a stroke while in the womb can cause brain bleeding or white matter damage.
  • Genetic Factors: Rare gene changes can lead to abnormal brain development. [1, 2]

I love the idea of a home birth. I read all the Ina May books (she laughs in the face of breech and sunnysides), she’s a legend.
I still ended up opting to have mine at Mad River. Ended up being a good decision in the long run.
Still kind of bummed, but (obvs) not really.

Hoping this mom got the support and successful birth she needed and hoped for. Every situation is different, some safer than others.🙏🏽

I have a friend who had a successful unassisted breech birth in a tent in Marin County in 1969. 😊
I also had a successful unassisted (no midwife) home birth in 1970.
Childbirth certainly can be an emergency situation but I have been at 2 other home births and one hospital birth. Most births are not emergencies.
