Road Work Continues Friday in Redway and Garberville; Bear Canyon Road Closes This Morning

Press release from the Humboldt County Public Works Department:

A Measure O-funded project began [Thursday] on Redway Drive and Redwood Drive. Contractors are scheduled to work in the Redway and Garberville areas through Wednesday, June 3, on weekdays only from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

[Today], Friday, May 29, Bear Canyon Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Work is also scheduled on Melville Road and Redway Drive.

Monday, June 1: Church Street and Redwood Drive (westbound lane)

Tuesday, June 2: Redway Drive, Redwood Drive (eastbound lane), Bear Canyon Road, and Melville Road

Wednesday, June 3: Church Street, Redwood Drive (westbound lane), and Redway Drive

Please plan accordingly, follow all traffic control signals, and drive safely through and near work areas.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue making roadway improvements and completing preservation treatments!

Leave plenty early! Bear Canyon was scheduled to be closed at 9:00 am, was already fully closed at 8:30 this morning.
