[Update: Forward Progress Stopped] Vegetation Fire Threatens Home in Hydesville Monday Afternoon

A vegetation fire broke out Monday afternoon in Hydesville, threatening a structure and prompting calls for additional water tenders from neighboring agencies.

The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. on the 2000 block of Quail Lane, where a tree was burning near a residence.

Firefighters requested additional water tender support, including units from Rio Dell, as the fire appeared close to reaching the structure.

No injuries were reported as of initial dispatch. It was not immediately clear what sparked the fire.

Update: According to scanner traffic, forward progress has been stopped.

Update 2:10 p.m.: The CAL FIRE engine en route has been cancelled but at least one water tender has been continued. According to scanner traffic, firefighters have contained the vegetation fire at this point.

The smoke from that fire was black when it started.
With binoculars from waaaaay down the hill it looked like a pickup truck might have burned…

Crazy a truck burned. I’m surprised THE TRÉS wasn’t there making sure it was good.
