[Update: Good News!] Family Hoping for Safe Return of Missing McKinleyville Teen

Press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office:
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help locating missing juvenile Dan’des’ne Moorehead, 14, of McKinleyville.
Dan’des’ne was reported missing by his father on May 10, 2026, at approximately 8:11 a.m. He was last seen on May 8, 2026, at about 9:30 p.m. at their apartment in McKinleyville. It is believed he left the apartment sometime during the night or early morning hours of May 9, 2026.
Physical Description:
- Native American juvenile
- 14-years-old
- 5- foot-7 inches tall
- 120 pounds
- Brown hair
- Hazel eyes
Dan’des’ne was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and camouflage Nike Air Force 1 shoes.
On May 11, 2026, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report that Dan’des’ne was possibly seen on the morning of May 10, 2026, walking in the 1100 block of Broadway Street in Eureka.
Anyone with information regarding Dan’des’ne Moorehead’s possible whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office at (707) 445-7251 and reference case number 202602064.
Update May 13: The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office released the following statement today –
On May 13, 2026, 14-year-old Dan’des’ne Moorehead, who had been reported missing, was located and safely reunited with his family.
The Feather Alert has been canceled.

I hope he’s found safe and well and soon.
I hope he is safe and visiting friends. But I do notice that there is more concern for a redwood tree in lower redway then a missing teen. .
You sure got that right. I also hope that he is found safe.
I was a teenager once. I know how rebellious they can be. Redwoods are tame in comparison.
