Motorcyclist Reported to Have Major Injuries After Crashing Into Deer on 101

A motorcycle collided with a deer on Highway 101 near Redcrest just before noon today, according to scanner traffic. When medical personnel arrived at the scene, an air ambulance was requested for “one patient” who reportedly sustained major injuries. One lane of the highway is reported to be blocked.

At this point, details are scarce, but we will update this post when we get more information.

Update 12:32 p.m.: Reach Air Ambulance is reported to have an estimated time of arrival in 40 minutes.

Update 12:37 p.m.: The air ambulance has been canceled. Personnel at the scene have decided to transport the patient in a ground ambulance.

Been there and done that. I got a deer doing about 55 on a Yamaha 350. In the dark . Moderate road rash. It takes forever to get your bike started again.

I just hope the rider will make a complete recovery from his accident. It may take him or her some time before they can throw a leg over and take off.
