[UPDATE 2:02 p.m.] 68-Year-Old Woman Trapped in Well Near Fort Bragg; Air Ambulance Responding

Emergency personnel are responding to a report of a 68-year-old woman trapped in a well on property off the sand dunes north of Fort Bragg. According to early reports from emergency dispatch, the incident is occurring in the 33,300 block of Beal Lane.

First responders indicated the woman was experiencing chest pain, and an air ambulance was requested to assist with the medical emergency. The air ambulance is currently responding and is expected to arrive on scene around 2:10 p.m.

Additional details about how the woman became trapped in the well and the extent of her condition have not yet been released.

This is a developing situation, and information is being reported as it becomes available and may change as more details are confirmed.

UPDATE 2:02 p.m.: Emergency personnel extricated the woman from the well. She is being transported by ground ambulance to the Mendocino Coast Hospital to rendezvous with REACH air ambulance if needed.

Somebody in the neighborhood is very alert and called authorities. TG for good weather for ground and/or air ambulance.

Gee some good listener must have heard cries for help. She lucky. Cold scared and made enough racket in there to get some attention. Suspect there was a wood type well cap that weathered and succumbed first then was trod on by passerby. I’d love to hear about her experience.

Seriously, I hope the woman fares well and the chest pain turns out to be nothing more than the bumps and bruises from the fall.
