That young man and his passenger are very lucky to be alive. Missing the stop sign can happen to anyone, but getting struck broadside is sometimes fatal. I am glad they were taken to the hospital in Redding, and I hope they make a complete recovery from their injuries. I also feel sorry for the Ford pickup driver, as that accident will follow him for some time and I am glad he is ok.

How do you ‘fail to stop’ at a stop sign entering a major highway (where speed limits are 55mph) from a side road? Totally irresponsible. My husband commutes on that highway and it’s drivers like this that scare me.

Even if there is no stop sign you need to make sure there’s no oncoming traffic!
