Here’s a Ukiah haiku called Charged.
Rich folx charge EVs.
Poor folks charge up on crystal.
Ukiah has juice.
I think the new charging stations are great. EV’s have really not caught on too much in this area, but with the new chargers maybe more people will take the leap to all electric vehicles. They should also draw some tourist trade to the area.
Largely vacant in laytonville, the few that stop wander around looking something to do while the Chevron is packed. Good luck getting approved for a gas station. A sawmill would be a great start to change things. By the way, the Chinese restaurant next to the bay area dipshits changing station is under appreciated.
You mean the Chinese restaurant next to formerly Boomers? That place is great! I heard Boomers got purchased by the local tribe. They have to keep it closed for awhile- maybe 2 years?- after which it can get grandfathered in under tribal laws and badda bing! The tribe will have the best spot in Laytonville. Tribes sure are coming up while we non-tribals are sure going down…anybody else noticing?
Boomers couldn’t make the rent, sold the liquor license but got screwed on that. The tribe may have some surprises coming. Strange times indeed.
I hope one day Laytonville will also have several charging stations. Lots of tourists and other folks drive through there in EV vehicles. Would you like to see that Trashman.
The fact that this press release does not say what level of charging these units are demonstrates the continued lack of understanding of EVs in our culture. The paradigm shift away from gasoline is going to take a while, but this is a good step.
