That was a very bad accident when a vehicle strikes a pedestrian in the roadway. My only concern at this point was the male walking in the roadway or was he laying in the road. Either way, I pray he will make a complete recovery from his injures. Thank you to the CHP officer for giving him CPR while waiting for medical to arrive.

Martin, whenever you see CPR has started it means the person is clinically dead — their heart has stopped and they’re not breathing — so it’s a little premature to pray for recovery when survival is in doubt.

Unfortunately CPR survival rates for trauma victims, especially blunt force trauma like vehicle accidents, is extremely low.

Blunt trauma… about 2% to 4%. (Depending on sources.)

I totally agree with what the CHP officer did by giving the victim CPR. I always pray for a recovery in cases like this one. The officer did what any caring person would do.

Just a nice suggestion. Some people like to pray and it makes them feel good. Don’t judge just hope the person gets better.

I was passing while that AMAZING officer literally gave his heart and soul to save a life no matter the odds or judging the reason. In such a horrific scene I witnessed humanity and beauty. That CHP has to go home to his family after serving us citizens. It opened my eyes. We don’t get to see what they do behind the scenes. I’m just usually trying not to get a speeding ticket. Martin, you pray away!! Pray for the injured, the officer, but also those who replied with negative comments. It’s NEVER too late to pray. Pray in whatever way serves you!♡ I want to say shame on those but in reality I feel sorry for people who were not even there, predict death, and encourage you not to pray. I have never replied on a thread. I probably never will again. Go ahead and reply with your negativity folks but I will not be reading them. Martin, thank you for your kind thoughts for a total stranger. Sometimes people need help. Mental health is a big issue as well as empathy (obviously with your responses)

A few years back, I nearly ran over a guy walking on the freeway. Around midnight, the guy was wearing all black, and he had to see me coming down the hill towards him. Even with my brights on. But made no apparent effort to get out of the way with any sense of urgency.
Personally, I would run to get out of the way. But then, I am a bit smarter than he is (or perhaps was, by now).
