On Thursday afternoon, personnel from the CAL FIRE Humboldt-Del Norte unit were requested to assist the Yurok Tribe Six Rivers National Forest Service on the Martin Fire burning north of the Hoopa Reservation.

CAL FIRE Air Attack 120, Copter 611, and Tanker 90 responded to the incident. An additional engine and water tender were requested.

Around 1:15 p.m. the fire was described as a tenth of an acre escaped field burn via the scanner. All incoming units were cancelled, and CAL FIRE aircraft were released.

As of the publication of this article, smoke is still visible on the Deerhorn 1 camera on the Alert California system, though diminished.

We have reached out to the Six Rivers National Forest Service for additional information.
