Possible Sighting in McKinleyville Renews Search for Ukiah Man Missing Since November

The family of a Ukiah man who has been missing for more than eight months is asking North Coast residents to keep an eye out after receiving reports that he may have been seen in McKinleyville approximately two months ago.

According to Samuel Sierra’s sister, Monica Pedroza, her 36-year-old brother has been missing since last year.

“My brother has been missing out of Ukiah, CA since November 2025,” Pedroza said. “We still have no updates about him. The Mendocino Sheriff’s Office has no updates as well, unfortunately.”

Pedroza said the family recently received tips from people who believe they may have seen Sierra in the McKinleyville area about two months ago. Hoping those reports might lead to new information, she is asking the public throughout Humboldt County to help spread the word.

“I’ve had some tips come in of possible sightings of my brother up north in McKinleyville,” she said. “I am hoping you can help me by spreading the word and/or share his flyer in hopes more people see it and they have possibly seen him up north.”

The California Highway Patrol activated a Feather Alert on behalf of the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office on March 2, 2026.

According to the alert, Sierra was last seen around noon on November 11, 2025, in Ukiah and is believed to have been on foot.

Sierra is described as:

36 years old
5 feet, 7 inches tall
Approximately 140 pounds
Black hair
Brown eyes
Clothing unknown

Anyone who has seen Samuel Sierra or has information about his whereabouts is urged to call 9-1-1 immediately. Family members also ask that anyone with information or possible sightings email [email protected].

Pedroza said any assistance from the public in sharing Sierra’s information is greatly appreciated as the family continues searching for answers.
