Crescent City Fireworks and Parade Closures: What You Need to Know for the 4th

Information from the Crescent City Police Department:

FIREWORK SECURITY ZONE REMINDER AND PARKING CLOSURES:

The Jetty and the B Street Pier area will have some restrictions over the next few days as it is federally mandated that a security/blast zone be maintained around the area from setup to the show. Upon the arrival of the fireworks crew on July 3rd, B Street will be closed at the intersection of Howe Drive and will remain closed until after the fireworks are over on the 4th. There is no access allowed to the public within the blast zone, this includes the jetty and B Street Pier.

The area is being secured by the volunteers from our local Relay for Life group. This is a requirement in order to be able to put on a fireworks show. Please be courteous and understanding to the Security Team as they are providing a much needed service that greatly helps out with all the events taking place this weekend.

Deck Party Parking Closure on July 3rd:

Play Street will be closed off on July 3rd at 1 pm for the Deck Party from Front Street to the pool. This will remain closed until after the fireworks are over of the 4th.

Beachfront Park vehicle traffic:

Beachfront Park will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 11 pm on the 3rd and will reopen after the fireworks are over on the 4th.

Vendors will be allowed in the closed area with a parking pass from the Chamber of Commerce for the event.

Parade Route closed for parking on street:

Parking will also be closed along the parade route on the day of the 4th of July. This includes the entire parade route from H Street down to 3rd Street, then K Street and Front Street. No parking is allowed on these portions of the street for safety of the parade and festivities.

Vehicles that are parked within any of the closed area may be subject to being towed.
Please be safe and enjoy the 4th of July.

Apparently it’s still ‘anything goes’ except in the areas subject to closures — should be a blast as freedom loving drunken morons randomly set off fire works — really love the home made mortars!

The people who do that are morons for sure and they don’t care if they are drunk or not. I just hope they don’t injure children!
