Human Remains Found During Trash Cleanup in Ukiah
Press release from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office:
On 03-22-2025 at approximately 9:52 A.M., Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 1800 block of Low Gap Road in Ukiah, CA, regarding found human remains.
Upon arrival, Deputies contacted members of a local non-profit group who were conducting trash cleanup in the area. Deputies were advised that while cleaning up trash, one of the non-profit group members located what was believed to be human remains. Deputies conducted a further search of the area and located what they confirmed to be adult human remains.
Investigators from both the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office and the Ukiah Police Department responded and processed the scene. Investigators are researching active missing persons cases in an attempt to assist with identifying the human remains. Once positive identification is made and the legal next of kin is notified, an additional press release will be issued regarding the identification of the decedent. At this point the coroner’s case is still actively being investigated, but foul play is not suspected.

What a very sad sight the nonprofit workers found. I just can’t imagine picking up trash and finding human remains from some poor soul. Disposing of a human body in that manner is just plain uncalled for. I pray law enforcement, and the coroner can identify the person and finally bring some closure for the family and friends of the victim. May the person RIP.
Could have been a homeless person who died where all the garbage was. Either way it’s sad.

It’s a sad story but foul play is not suspected — nothing in the press release suggests the remains were dumped.
It’s highly likely the individual died where they were found — and it won’t be a surprise if it turns out they were homeless.
You have no damn idea how that poor soul perished do you? So just shut the hell up unless you have something kind to say.
