I sure hope that they locate Mr. Salmond quickly. Wonder why the IHSS worker left him by himself. I thought they needed to be with the person 24/7. If I remember correctly, it seems this has happened with him before.
Ihss only covers so many hours a week. I know of several people that should have 24/7 but only get 15 or 20 a week
And the pay for IHSS is so low it’s hard to find people willing to do the job unless they’re family members.
Thanks for the information.
Pretty sure hospice has to be approved for 24 hour care to happen. Maybe I’m wrong? Anyway, the greater concern is for Mr. Salmond. I also hope he’s found soon
Yes, I hope they find him in time but I think your timing is off — you imply the IHSS worker went off and left him and didn’t return — but according to the story:
”Salmond…was last seen around 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 27 at his home on Middle Ridge Road in Albion…[he] was reported missing after an In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) worker returned on March 1 and found him gone.”
Which probably means his IHSS was the last person to see him and reported him missing when he wasn’t home for his next scheduled appointment.
My timing won’t be off until March 9th. I guess it does not matter if the IHSS worker was there or not. The worker could have been in another room, and he decided to go for some reason.
It would have made a two day difference in this case — it’s lots different looking for someone who slipped out the door a few minutes ago versus two days ago.
