[UPDATE 4:32 p.m.: One-Way Traffic Control] Hwy 299 Closed Due to Fire

About 2:30 p.m. a fire started near Hwy 299 at Steel Bridge Road east of Douglas City near the Trinity/Shasta County border.

Although forward progress has been stopped, according to a post at 3:31 p.m. on the Caltrans District 2’s Facebook page, “State Route 299 is currently CLOSED, approximately 3 miles east of Douglas City, due to the #SteelFire.”
