‘Ton’ of Law Enforcement Gathered Near Loleta
This morning, starting around 6:45 a.m., locals reported spotting a convoy at the south 101 exit to College of the Redwoods north of Loleta.
One reader said, “Convoy at the 101 exit that goes out south jetty. I don’t know what road is called. It’s 7 am right now.” According to one report, the gathering included “a TON of police at Hookton turnout,” with around “15 vehicles.” Another local agreed that there were about 15 vehicles. He described there being both unmarked and black and white with emblems.
This may however be related to a large amount of law enforcement that were gathered in the 400 block of Tompkins Hill Road yesterday.
We’ve reached out to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department and requested more information on the situation.

Apparently it’s still cool to give criminals the heads up when the convoy is coming.
U bet.
It’s still a challenge for them to know WHICH criminal they’re coming for.
It’s just Kym’s “grass roots” showing through.
Mel, It seems like I’ve addressed this enough that you’d have heard this in earlier comments. But let’s just repeat something I’ve said before. Let’s compare this post to others elsewhere. Do you imagine in New York that if there was a large gathering of law enforcement headed somewhere that reporters wouldn’t be reporting that?
Of course, they would. Heck, there’d be news helicopters circling overhead.
But no one thinks that the gang member on the east side is warned that law enforcement is coming for him by their reports. How is it that I’m warning criminals? It was 45 minutes after I first heard of the convoy that I reported on it.
If everything went perfectly for the suspect, they’d have to see the post when it first comes out and immediately connect that law enforcement is headed to them. (How the heck do they know that? There are literally hundreds if not thousands of criminal actions that can be reached by going down 101, for instance. .)
Then the suspect even if s/he happens to look at the post early, immediately does what? Nothing. Why does the suspect believe that they are going to raid him not his neighbor? So he goes and does his regular routine.
These convoy posts provide community members with the reassurance that someone is watching law enforcement to ensure that rules are followed, warns of traffic impacts (large convoys on rural roads can cause problems) and (this one isn’t a popular reason with some but it works like this) like the simple presence of a patrol car, the post spreads a sense that the agencies are cracking down–thus actually adding to their influence. It is impossible to bust every infraction at every grow. Some of what law enforcement wants is to push criminals into compliance.
Spot on Kym…

True. But even if someone knew they’re coming for them, by the time the convoy assembles it’s too late to tidy up the premises.

How many cops in a ton?
Depends on the agency….lol
Depends on the ton…
Long ton or short ton.
A ton of cops weighs more than a ton of gold.

Depends on the donut consumption that morning!
Most of the task force are more steroid guys than donut guys
Depends alot on how close the station is to the donut shop!
Long, short, or imperial…?
Add one “cop” for Scotland Yard, compared to HCSO…

Roughly 10, but with some of the pics I have seen of the local boys it could be less than 8. This is not accurate reporting as there are 15 vehicles, so it is more than a buttload, but could be a shitload but nowhere near a shitton.
8 cop ton, you know they are big boys
More than you can handle friend.
More than you can afford, we’ve seem to have handled the decline of society quite well, sir.
The left has been on a race to the ethical and moral bottom for decades leaving America in moral decline. LEO’s must deal with the fallout the left has created.
Law enforcement officers play a crucial role in maintaining public safety and order. Their work often involves significant risks and challenges, and they frequently put themselves in harm’s way to protect others. It’s important to acknowledge and respect their dedication and service.

But it’s not a race without competition and the Republicans have kept pace every step of the way.
The competition is from communists and socialists. It will take republicans to square things away.
Ha, Ha! Great sense of humor!
Like Rodney Dangerfield said, “Hey, I resemble that remark.”
Imagine actually believing that horseshit.
Statistically speaking, cops do not have a very dangerous job. There are lots of articles and studies about which careers are the most dangerous. They use different metrics such as rate of workplace Injuries or deaths or the chance of being the victim of a violent crime while working. Cops almost never make the top 20, while logging and tree work always makes the top 3 if not first place. Mailmen firefighters truckers and equipment operators are almost always ranked as more dangerous than cops. Google it.
Google it again when the next couple of LEO’s are murdered. When did you have a run in with LEO’s?

These are the first 3 that pop up on Google. Not sure if bureau of labor leaves cops out cos it’s not a civilian job or cos it’s not a dangerous job. But regardless of how I feel about cops, their job is STATISTICALLY not as dangerous as many jobs. Sure their job is stressful and the dangers they face are different, but I can’t shoot or arrest my way out of a tree going the wrong way or some nutsack who can’t drive right hitting me while hauling equipment down the highway.
When was the last cop murdered?
They don’t have an especially dangerous job
Since you asked…The most recent law enforcement officer (LEO) killed in the line of duty this year was Deputy Sheriff William Butler, Jr. from the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan. His end of watch was on June 27, 2024.
Google these web sites…FBI Releases Officers Killed and Assaulted in the Line of Duty, 2023 Special Report and Law Enforcement Employee Counts or The Officer Down Memorial Page for more specifics.
Sorry, it has taken me so long to pay attention but please change your name.
Got it?
Interesting. A reporter, who relies on the First Amendment more than anyone else, is asking someone to change their name. I get why, but the First Amendment’s protections, which this reporter relies on daily, aren’t truly known and felt until the speech becomes offensive to someone. Those protections work both ways, no matter how right you are or how nicely you asked him to change her/his/their name.
To be clear, the First Amendment applies to the government not to a private business. I rely on the highest ideals of the First Amendment to let opinions be expressed but I don’t allow insults or pornography or accusations of illegal behavior without substantial proof or even the word “sheeple” just because it is a sign of such poor thinking that it degenerates the conversation (I know, I know…we don’t exactly seem to climb much beyond Your president wears army boots but I still aspire to an exchange of ideas not insults.) So in spite of what you said, the First Amendment doesn’t apply to his fake name.
Please law enforcement is the largest gang that commits more crimes than they prevent so much so that they are granted immunity and special treatment even when charged with a crime they can not even be questioned in the same manor . Power is evil and those with a badge view most without a badge as someone who they havent caught yet .
Spot on Martin…
Roughly 10, but from some of the pics of the local boys I have seen it could be less than 8. This is not accurate reporting as there were 15 vehicles, so it could be a shitload, more than a buttload and way less than a shitton. Words are important people!
Lol
Not many! It’s not a good term to use with cops….I’m thinking a cruiser, a truck and 3 cops w/ equipment is over a ton. So a “ton of cops” is really not many at all! Might want to measure them in mega-tons?
It’s too bad they shut down Hansen’s Truck Stop. We might have been able to get the answer from the scales there…
I used to always fill up at Hansen’s Truck Stop. I don’t know why it was closed.
Highway construction to build that bigger Rt 36 interchange. It was a sad story of how CalTrans refused to work with them and so cut off their access to Highway 101. Hansens did not want to go but they were forced out of business by CalTrans.
Average man weight 200 probably 10 cops with 15 vehicles, something adding up?
That’s called a ‘murder’.
It will be called a meme once pics are posted. If it was a movie, it would be Police Academy.
I’m going with 16.
Depends on whether or not you’re including their egos. If so, 2 cops is a ton.
This is journalism…breaking news, cops gather to show funny meme, public demands answers…breaking officer picked up lunch order for coworkers who are training…details at seven…update, officers are chipotle and have continued with their day…public demands to know, who could afford the extra guac…
To really stir things up, perhaps this blog should do weekly black market grower alerts. 5 Raptors and a Lexus spotted at turnout in Leggett. Heads up! 3 Sprinter vans seen at Alderpoint store. 2 dodge rams pulling horse trailers seen along Briceland road. 5 hippies seen playing guitar along the side of Usal road. What were they doing in the middle portion of Usal road in the middle of nowhere? Be alert, they may ask you for a lift or for some Yerba mate.,
Oh yeah them hippies is the worst! Just give them directions to the Rainbow Gathering and watch them pack up quick….
Just traing day

No worries y’all. They were just meeting up for breakfast at the new doughnut shop, where they were going to split up their take from the payoffs they took the night before.
