For The Glory!

The Great Race starts today at the Arcata plaza.
There will be colorful people, amazing and delightful machines.

Always a delight, never a disappointment. And the Sun is starting to break thru.

In motion, unseen force untamed,
Kinetic energy, a dance unchained.
From stillness springs a boundless flow,
In every object, its rhythm does show.
Potential unleashed, a vibrant spree,
In the world’s grand symphony.

Today is George Floyd
Remembrance Day
The fourth anniversary of his brutal murder.

Has their been any meaningful police reform? Not much.

Yet, since that fateful day in 2020,
approximately 5,000 additional people have been killed by police.
More in 2021 than in 2020.
More in ’22 than in ’21.
More in ’23 than in ’22…

Nope, you aren’t understanding how a coroner’s report works. It is confusing. That’s why even early media reports got this wrong. Every possible factor is supposed to be listed in a coroner’s report. So even (for example) when say heart disease is only a very minor factor to someone not surviving a gunshot wound, it is supposed to be listed. Fentanyl may have played a role but the Coroner’s report states that without the very significant factor of law enforcement subduing Floyd, he wouldn’t have died ie CARDIOPULMONARY ARREST COMPLICATING LAW ENFORCEMENT SUBDUAL, RESTRAINT, AND NECK COMPRESSION. Again, one can restrict someone’s airflow and cause their death without damaging their airway–imagine holding a pillow over someone’s head until they stop breathing. No significant damage is done to their airways but you killed them.

And if it was a lethal dose Floyd ingested he would have been dead on the spot. Some people have a high tolerance to drugs.
What is a lethal dose is subjective.

George Floyd died of fentanyl OD according to coroner report

Kym Kemp

That was absolutely not what was said in the Coroner’s report. As I responded to your same statement before, “You could not have read the report and come up with that statement. Literally the title of it is: CARDIOPULMONARY ARREST COMPLICATING LAW ENFORCEMENT SUBDUAL, RESTRAINT, AND NECK COMPRESSION i.e. he died because of complications from law enforcement actions during arrest which included neck compression. Here is the autopsy. https://kymkemp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/floyd-autopsy-6-3-20.pdf

Unless you offer substantial evidence to the contrary don’t repeat this false statement again.

The links in the following article seem to provide substantial evidence to the contrary.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner found a potentially lethal dose of fentanyl in George Floyd’s body during his autopsy, but was unable to identify any evidence that Floyd died of “asphyxiation” or “damage to his airways.”

Two new exhibits introduced before the Hennepin County District Court show that Hennepin County Medical Examiner Dr. Andrew Baker concluded that George Floyd’s body contained a lethal dose of fentanyl, a powerful opioid, following his death in police custody on May 25. Dr. Baker formed this conclusion after he performed an autopsy on Floyd’s body.

Dr. Baker’s assessment was introduced to former officer Tou Thao’s trial in a Hennepin County District Court alongside four other exhibits, which include statements about the cause of Floyd’s death from a two-person team of independent medical examiners as well as the Armed Forces Medical Examiner.

Thao was one of the officers present as Derek Chauvin detained Floyd beneath his knee as Floyd died.

One of the documents, named “Exhibit 4,” summarizes Dr. Baker’s autopsy results and notes that Floyd’s body contained a “fatal level of fentanyl under normal circumstances.”

Exhibit 4 also reveals that “this level of fentanyl can cause pulmonary edema.”

“Pulmonary edema is a condition caused by excess fluid in the lungs,” according to Mayo Clinic. This condition causes the lungs to increase in weight and can be symptomatic of an opioid overdose, according to the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).

“Opioid overdose itself can induce pulmonary edema,” says the AAMC.

Dr. Baker’s autopsy found that “Mr. Floyd’s lungs were 2-3x their normal weight at autopsy,” consistent with pulmonary edema.

However, pulmonary edema can also be caused by an individual struggling to breathe against an obstructed airway, a condition termed “negative pressure pulmonary edema,” according to Chest, a widely regarded medical journal.

Exhibit 4 also records that Dr. Baker “said that if Mr. Floyd had been found dead in his home (or anywhere else) and there were no other contributing factors he would conclude that it was an overdose death.”

In another one of the documents, named “Exhibit 1,” Dr. Baker states this himself. If Floyd “were found dead at home alone and no other apparent causes [existed], this would be acceptable to call [his death] an OD [overdose],” he said as part of a witness statement after conducting his autopsy.

Another document, “Exhibit 3,” reports that Dr. Baker’s “autopsy revealed no physical evidence suggesting that Mr. Floyd died of asphyxiation.”

“Mr. Floyd did not exhibit signs of petechiae, damage to his airways or thyroid, brain bleeding, bone injuries, or internal bruising,” Exhibit 3 reports.

The Armed Forces Medical Examiner partially agreed with Dr. Baker, concluding that Floyd’s “death was caused by the police subdual and restraint in the setting of severe hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and methamphetamine and fentanyl intoxication,” per “Exhibit 5.”

However, another document filed to the court, “Exhibit 2,” shows that two independent medical examiners, Dr. Michael Baden and Dr. Allecia Wilson, hired by Floyd’s family attributed his death to “traumatic asphyxia due to the compression of his neck and back during restraint by police.”

Exhibit 2 also notes that Baden and Wilson were “unable to complete their final reports,” as they lacked “microscopic slides, pictures, and other evidence gathered during Dr. Baker’s initial autopsy of Mr. Floyd.”

If you are going to overdose on a drug it usually happens right away. Especially a strong drug like Fentanyl.
You just nod off and never wake up.

GS said, “George Floyd died of fentanyl OD according to coroner report” The report does not say that. It clearly states homicide not overdose.
You may want to speculate that the coroner’s report is wrong or misleading but the coroner’s report says homicide–“CARDIOPULMONARY ARREST COMPLICATING LAW ENFORCEMENT SUBDUAL, RESTRAINT, AND NECK COMPRESSION”

One can have one’s opinion on what something means. One should not lie about the facts. The report clearly states homicide caused by law enforcement subdual.

Disagree with the report if you want. But don’t misrepresent the contents.

If your neighbor dies of heart attack while arguing with you then it’s certainly not homicide. Police are required to use restraint on combative criminals all the time. They used to be trained on choke hold and certainly not called attempted murder

If you restrict your neighbor’s airway for nine minutes (while he begs for help) causing his heart to stop beating when you are arguing with him…you bet your booty you will be charged with homicide—in this case, even if you are a cop.

You are of course correct that the coroner’s report does not state Floyd died of an overdose. I would like to point out to everyone that it also does not claim he was asphyxiated. Quite the contrary in fact, it states there was no sign of asphyxia or any damage to his neck, not even bruising.

The report also states that there was no signs of hypoxia in the brain tissue, so that suggests the knee was also not placed on the carotid artery and did not interfere with circulation.

Baker was pressured to alter the wording of his report to appease the mob and his higher ups. Even now, the report still shows Floyd died of cardiopulmonary arrest caused by multiple factors. Floyd had severe heart damage, very high blood pressure, an enlarged heart, blocked arteries, Covid and had ingested a very large dose of fentanyl. Most likely Floyd’s heavily damaged, drug laden heart simply couldn’t keep up with the demands of his physical exertion while resisting the cops restraining him.

You all know he was complaining about not being able to breathe long before he was on the ground, right? And that Floyd asked the officers to put him on the ground because he suddenly was too claustrophobic to sit in the car?

Here is an article that lays it out pretty well…

“Medical experts have also noted that the fact that no major bruising or damage to the muscles, cartilage or bones in the neck was found — as indicated under the phrase “no life-threatening injuries identified” in the autopsy — does not mean that asphyxia did not occur. Only that there are no signs of it on the body.”

Thanks to cell phones, we all watched George Floyd murdered. In addition, jurors convicted Chauvin of Murder.
The Hennepin County coroner clearly says law enforcement procedures led to his death–“cardiopulmonary arrest complicating law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression” ie he wouldn’t have died if Chauvin had not held his knee on Floyd’s throat. The report notes that the neck compression (“meaning the blood flow (and, thus, oxygen) to Floyd’s brain and heart were cut off. It doesn’t take physical trauma to asphyxiate someone” https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-two-autopsies-of-george-floyd-arent-as-different-as-they-seem/) and restraint were significant factors contributing to his death. The report lists Floyd’s death as a homicide…ie it wasn’t caused by medical conditions. https://kymkemp.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/2020-3700-Floyd-George-Perry-Update-6.1.2020.pdf

In addition, an independent autopsy concluded that George Floyd died due to asphyxia (lack of oxygen) from sustained pressure on his neck and back. This autopsy emphasized that the sustained pressure on Floyd’s neck impeded blood flow to the brain, and the pressure on his back impeded his ability to breathe.

A fascinating article in New Republic (definitely leans left but is generally perceived as factual and reliable) goes in depth into forensic doctors and possible bias favorable to law enforcement. https://newrepublic.com/article/176956/medical-examiners-shield-violent-cops-scrutiny

Kym, you are a black belt.
I assume you had training in various choke holds.
You know that the carotid arteries are on the sides of the neck toward the front. I am sure you also know you can not successfully perform a choke hold unless you constrict BOTH carotid arteries.

I challenge you to watch the video again and look where Chauvin’s knee is placed. It is never shown anywhere near the carotid arteries.

Mind you, I think Chauvin’s lack of rendering aid was condemnable, but he didn’t kill with a knee on the neck.

You also never explained why Floyd was complaining about not being able to breathe long before he was ever placed on the ground.

  1. I’m not a medical examiner…neither are you. But, a knee on the neck can impede blood flow and breathing by compressing other vital structures in the neck, including the airway and veins.
  2. The lack of rendering aid is indeed condemnable and significant. Law enforcement officers have a duty of care once a person is in their custody. The failure to provide necessary medical aid when someone is in distress, especially when that distress is a result of their actions, is a critical factor in the overall circumstances of the death.
  3. George Floyd’s complaints of being unable to breathe started while he was standing and continued when he was on the ground. This could be due to multiple factors, including anxiety, underlying health conditions, and the stress of the encounter with the police. The official autopsy noted that Floyd had underlying health conditions such as coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease, which could contribute to breathing difficulties. However, the autopsy also made it clear that the neck compression and the position in which he was restrained were significant contributing factors to his death.
  4. The official autopsy report concluded that George Floyd’s death was a homicide caused by cardiopulmonary arrest complicated by law enforcement subdual, restraint, and neck compression. This determination was made by Dr. Andrew Baker, the Chief Medical Examiner, and the term “homicide” here is used in a medical context, meaning death caused by the actions of another person.

While there may be nuances in the precise mechanics of how the knee restraint contributed to George Floyd’s death that as a non trained person, I don’t understand, the medical examiner’s findings are clear that the restraint and compression played a critical role in the fatal outcome. (Note: the majority of forensic opinions I’ve looked at agree.) In addition, the duty of care was breached by the lack of aid, and the overall circumstances led to the tragic result. The legal system has since evaluated these factors in detail, resulting in Derek Chauvin’s conviction for murder.

I’m not sure how you can interpret “CARDIOPULMONARY ARREST COMPLICATING LAW ENFORCEMENT SUBDUAL, RESTRAINT, AND NECK COMPRESSION” as anything but homicide–the killing of one person by another.

It’s important to understand the context and the relationship between a press release from the Coroner’s office and the official autopsy report. The press release is typically a summary meant to inform the public and media about key findings in a clear and concise manner. It is derived from the official autopsy report but is not meant to replace or contradict it.

In the case of George Floyd, the press release from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office stated that his death was classified as a homicide. This classification is based on the findings detailed in the official autopsy report signed by Dr. Andrew Baker, the Chief Medical Examiner. (The term “homicide” in this context is a medical term indicating that the death resulted from the actions of another person. It does not assign legal guilt or intent, which is determined by the judicial system.)

The official autopsy report, signed by Dr. Baker, includes a detailed medical examination, documenting the cause and manner of death, along with contributing factors. While the full report might use more technical language and provide extensive details, the classification of the death as a homicide is a medical conclusion drawn from the findings in the report.

The press release and the official autopsy report are consistent with each other. The press release serves as a public communication tool summarizing the essential findings of the detailed medical examination. But the 20 page autopsy which the press release summarized says Floyd died because of the actions of law enforcement–ie homicide.

Sure. Floyd did things that upped his chances of bad things happening to him. BUT none of the crimes he is accused of are supposed to be death sentences. And our system relies on people believing that they are going to get a fair trial–not be executed by a man we/they are supposed to trust to be fair while begging for their life as a group of concerned citizens beg the officer to stop murdering him.

How likely are folks to surrender peacefully the next time for a trial if they suspect that the officer is going to murder in them in full view of the community with impunity? If the system wants people to work within it…then the system itself has to work–and a law enforcement officer choosing to torture someone in such a way that the man eventually dies…is not the system working. At least in this case the officer faced charges and then was convicted but…that is not always the case.

You don’t have to like Floyd to think what happened to him was a travesty of justice. I wouldn’t have trusted him myself.

I don’t like Chauvin but…I don’t want some prison guard kneeling on his throat for nine minutes either.

You don’t have to like people to want the system to work.

Good resource, UK based:
https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/blog/donald-trump-joe-biden-dementia

The following something I recently read, an article abstract from Science Direct, Current Opinions in Psychology. Rather interesting:

“Conspiracy beliefs are often viewed as a form of psychopathology, closely linked to anxiety, paranoia, and maladaptive traits. However, recent research has brought attention to adaptive and functional aspects of conspiracy theories. This article presents a framework for understanding conspiracy beliefs as a paradoxical adaptation to historical trauma. There is vast evidence that three essential aspects of historical trauma (loss of personal and collective control, status devaluation, and victimhood) constitute the key antecedents of conspiracy beliefs. Although conspiracy theories might be adaptive in times of shared trauma (e.g., war, colonization), they become maladaptive in times of peace and prosperity. The popularity of conspiracy theories in historically traumatized societies threatens individuals’ health and well-being, social trust, cohesiveness, and intergroup harmony.”

Not touched on in the article, so far as “functional aspects of conspiracy theories”,
given its out of purview, is the function the theory was initially created to serve. Most likely, to cast doubt. In the case of the ‘Biden-has-Alzheimer’s’ thing, its purpose is of course political in nature.

On a societal level, more study is needed on the historical-trauma suffering leading to, say, some Americans being so embracing of conspiracy theories, including those purposefully cooked up and spread by mal-actors, both at home and abroad. Clearly, Great Replacement Theory, for example, has its roots in certain folks feeling “loss of personal and collective control, status devaluation, and victimhood”. Thus feeling traumatized. But one outcome being a form of lashing out, including the spreading of theories and falsehoods to help sway, to facilitate regime change seen as somehow responsible for, again, “loss of personal and collective control, status devaluation, and victimhood”.

Maybe something like a truth and reconciliation process is needed, where self-described victims can say “I feel threatened by _____ (fill in blank, such as loss of revenue, loss of quality-of-life as they see it, or color of skin not like mine, spiritual beliefs not like mine, sexual orientation not like mine, etc). Most anything is better than the current trajectory the head of the aggrieved and backers are taking us toward: political violence. Unless, that is, reconciliation is not at all wanted. That upheaval is wanted, somehow, in their imagination, benefitting the aggrieved … and some folk overseas. Food for thought.

When there’s nothing good to say about your guy(trump) make up all you can about the other guy (Joe).
It’s gotta be a Russian troll.

First and foremost the Biden Fascist Reich must be voted out. If RFK can poll better than Trump then I’ll switch back but his wishy washy acceptance of 3rd trimester infanticide is a moral conundrum

First off, since you have forfeited all semblance of credibility due to your rampant spreading of misinformation, nothing you say can be taken at face value.
Do you have a link to a credible source supporting your claim?

Secondly, whatever point you’re trying to make is irrelevant.
Your racist comment about “Replacement Policy” doesn’t become any less racist because you’ve shifted which nationalities you’ve decided to be racist against.

HR2 would fix border but Schumer roadblock won’t allow it to come to floor for vote and get sent to Biden for signature. A bipartisan vote including five Dems killed Biden’s amnesty bill on Feb. Are you saying the Dems voted the way Trump told them to?

At Bronx rally Tdump again uses a rally to praise Vladimir Putin, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Publicly stating his admiration for these authoritarian leaders is normal for Trump.

It’s been reported on X (so it must be true) “Deranged Don” has pictures of all 4 on his bedroom wall.

Also the claims “Demented Donald” made about how many people were at the rally were greatly exaggerated.

I watched a free YouTube movie called Killer Clowns From Outer Space recently. Cracked me up due to the Trump picture on Un-truth Social. Clown makeup for Clowns, how patriotic.

But, the reason I stopped by was to say to MAGA: WTF are you people smoking, cuz I want some. The idea that the EXACT same FBI search form for Biden is what the FBI used at MaraLardo is a fucking JOKE.

Trump: “They wanted to kill me.” Note to MAGA, the woke left will not contest ANY Trump insane pleas in court. Dude is clearly mental.

Tired of the whiny white people movement.

They gobble it up like baby bird’s.
It’s sickening but it’s how they get their nourishment.

When did FBI use search warrant for Dementia Joe Biden’s home? Then how could the “EXACT same FBI search form for Biden” exist?

Did feds search dozens and dozens of Biden’s boxes at university for classified documents? Where exactly did the FBI search or was it only what was given them?

During and after his term as President of the United States, Donald the Demented made tens of thousands of false or misleading claims.
The Washington Post’s fact-checkers documented 30,573 false or misleading claims during his presidential term, an average of about 21 per day.

What a Biden Fiasco Shit Show…

Four US Army Vessels associated with the Biden Gaza Floating Pier Scheme have become unmoored and run aground on Gaza’s beaches…

USS Keels, not US heels, aground in Gaza…

What a Joke…!!!

I didn’t realize Biden’s other job was mooring the boats to the pier.
Next time let the Navy do it. They are good with boat knots.
I recommend an anchor hitch.

” “Israel has not and will not conduct military actions in the Rafah area which may inflict on the Palestinian civilian population in Gaza conditions of life that could bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part,” the statement says, echoing language used by the court in its operative clauses.

“Israel will continue its efforts to enable humanitarian assistance and will act, in full compliance with the law, to reduce as much as possible harm caused to the civilian population in Gaza.” ”

……………….

Bigger lies were never told…
