Traffic Moving Slowly on 4th as Structure Fire Broke Out Near L Street Tonight

A fire broke out in a building at 1034 4th St. in Eureka shortly after 11 p.m. tonight. Humboldt Bay Fire Department (HBF) responded and called for mutual aid from neighboring agencies.

One witness said that smoke was visible from the West side of the building, but they didn’t see any flames.An ambulance, fire engines, and law enforcement are on scene.

According to the Lost Coast Outpost scanner coverage, “The first in engine is involved in a rescue of at least one victim from the fourth street side of the structure. A second alarm is being requested and multiple additional agencies are being requested for mutual aid to the scene and for coverage of the district.” This report has not been confirmed officially.

Emergency vehicles have partially blocked 4th Street and completely blocked L at 4th.
