RCAA Asks for Public Input on Needs of the Community’s Low-Income Residents

Press release from the Redwood Community Action Agency:

Redwood Community Action Agency (RCAA) will hold a Public Hearing via Zoom, Thursday, June 8th from 6-8pm, on the proposed 2024-2025 RCAA Community Action Plan (CAP). Members of the Humboldt community are invited to attend and make recommendations regarding the needs of the County’s low-income residents. Public comment will be incorporated into the agency’s biennial CAP for the period of 2024– 2025.

The RCAA Draft CAP 2024-2025, accompanying Community Needs Assessment survey, and Zoom meeting information can be found at: www.rcaa.org/cap.

The Public Hearing on the draft Community Action Plan will be Thursday, June 8th, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm via Zoom. To be included in the final Plan, surveys and any other written recommendations must be submitted by 5:00 pm, Wednesday June 7th, 2023. Redwood Community Action Agency’s Mission is to:

  • provide leadership and advocacy
  • develop community-based coordinated services and activities.

The purpose of these goals is to enable low-income and/or disadvantaged persons to gain the necessary skills, education, and motivation to become self-sufficient in a healthy, sustainable environment.

Hey RCAA–You might want to pay attention to the ‘poverty’ that exists in Southern Humboldt.

RCAA didn’t make getting assistance easy when I lived there…you might want to look into how Great Northern Services in Siskiyou works thru every town’s Resource Center to make help available in ALL the county,

not just the more populated areas…my suggestion to you~
