What one same guy? Harassing you because why? I am so annoyed by people harassing the homeless or anyone else for that matter. I’ve been harassed by a homeless woman one time out of hundreds of interactions with them. But I’ve seen them harassed multiple times for just being. People just need to be kind.

I’ve never seen anyone harass a homeless person other than to leave off asking them for money or to get out of the roadway.

This sort of goes beyond harassment but over my years as a reporter I’ve covered a number of cases of homeless people being assaulted and killed.
These are the ones that I can think of and find quickly:
https://kymkemp.com/2017/09/23/homeless-man-may-have-been-set-on-fire-last-night/
https://kymkemp.com/2017/06/10/homeless-man-attacked-and-sent-to-hospital-in-garberville-last-night/
The one that most sticks in my mind is local youth kicking and beating a homeless man in his sleeping bag to death. I can’t find info on that one.

Right, give camping gear to the homeless to make it easier for them to stay homeless and destroy the environment. Maybe you should help with the next cleanup of trash and needles. Then you might understand why FOTD and anyone else who cares about the environment doesn’t want people camping in our most sensitive environmental areas.

If people are setting up permanent campsites in the Dunes or Arcata Marsh, it’s not going to work. The Marsh, especially, is suffering.

Since they are against me driving to go clam digging or surf fishing despite my advanced age like people here did for a century without harm to the dunes I wouldn’t donate a penny to them.
