The very best gift we can give our incredible first responders is to STAY HOME &be as prepared as possible.
Dont become an emergency call if you can help it.
Take some personal responsibilty.
Our VFDs are leaving their famiies to help you for no pay. They are incredibly stressed right now.
Show them respect&appreciation by not putting yourself in unnecessary danger.
They may not even be available right now, like fruitland ridge whos fire dept is blicked by downed lines. They cant get to their gear.
PGE is not sending crews out until storm breaks tomoro, its too dangerous. We need those lines buried around all of our vfds.

There are new people who havent experienced these storms/quakes.
To them I say enjoy the down time.
Its what winters for; rest& slow your pace. There should be no need to get supplies as you should have emetgency stash at all times. We knew the power was going to go out. There will be times no ones available to help you or cannot get to you.
Meet your neighbors, see who in your hood runs saw if you dont, ask them to help if trees are down.

This time of year, used to be we were all still exhausted from harvest, clean up and selling the harvest. Then the holidays We called january movie month.
Its a totally different rhythm now community wide.
