One New Death, 3 New Hospitalizations, 142 New Cases
Press release from Humboldt County Public Health:
Humboldt County Public Health reported today the death of a resident in their 70s. Three new hospitalizations including a resident in their 60s and two in their 70s were also reported. An additional 95 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 were announced as well as 47 new probable cases for the period between Tuesday, Dec. 20 and Tuesday, Dec. 27. The total number of confirmed cases in the county stands at 23,069. An additional 5,705 cases are reported as probable.*
Humboldt County COVID-19 vaccination data is now being updated at the California Department of Public Health’s Tracking COVID-19 in California Data Dashboard. Residents can scroll down to the “County and statewide data” section and input “Humboldt County” to get local vaccination data.
OptumServe continues to offer rapid antigen testing and PCR testing services at the Wharfinger Building in Eureka six days a week. Walk-ins will receive only rapid antigen testing unless the attendee specifically states they require a PCR test. Appointments for antigen testing can be made by calling 888-634-1123. Wharfinger testing runs Sunday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and is closed from 11 a.m. to noon and 4 to 5 p.m.
Additionally, flu testing is now available at the OptumServe COVID-19 sites at the Wharfinger, as well as McKinleyville, Trinidad and Arcata. For a list of OptumServe COVID-19 and flu testing locations and schedules, visit humboldtgov.org/testregistration.

That doesn’t add up.
When someone says “trust the science” they are saying trust the process of science to give you the best currently available knowledge on a topic.
The whole reason science exists is to provide a process to continually improve our understanding of the world.
The Scientific Method:
1) Observe a phenomenon.
2) Develop an hypothesis about what caused the phenomenon.
3) Develop a test or tests that can be repeated to try and disprove the hypothesis.
4) If disproven, modify the hypothesis or develop a new one and begin again.
5) Repeat until you cannot disprove the hypothesis with testing.
Hypotheses that withstand repeated tests become robust and may be developed into a theory that explains a bit about how something works and is generally accepted as the current state of the knowledge.
“Science never stops debating” is too simplistic to be useful. It doesn’t account for the endless drag of those who argue past all reason and refuse to accept what they don’t like. And frankly don’t even understand what they themselves are saying much less anyone else.
Debating whether the earth is round versus flat is not science. It’s science versus science fiction in which some parties let no proof convince them their theories are wrong and adhere to poor data as proof of their contentions. They believe that repeating the same failed ideas endlessly is “debate” and actually better science. And squawk when dismissed.
Actually “trust the science” is a desperate protest by scientists to try to be equally simplistic with people who can’t deal with the details.
Please demand clinical Hyperbaric oxygen therapy at HUMCO AND MENDO hospitals. Itclears the hypoxia in 90% of patients vs a fatality rate of over 84% on hospital intubated mechanical ventilators. Whatever you do don’t sign away your rights when you enter a hospital and get a good advocate.
I was reading that the other day, that the misguidance recommending intubation mechanical ventilators killed tens of thousands, bad advice with contrary opinions suppressed by the Government. Will those responsible be held accountable so they can’t make future deadly mistakes?

No. It’s because they developed other therapies which lessened the need for intubation. In the beginning of the pandemic there really wasn’t much else you could do to try and keep critical patients alive and it wasn’t enough for many of them unfortunately.
Now there’s vaccines, anti-virals, and other treatments that keep many from ever getting that critically ill.
It depends on if the hospital wants to heal people or make money.

Hyperbaric treatment has shown some beneficial responses in long COVID patients but doesn’t seem to be useful in acute cases. When it is used, it’s on less critical patients so it’s not surprising that it has a higher survival rate. There are downsides and limits to the hyperbaric treatments as well but that’s for your physician to discuss with you, not an internet commenter.
Early on COVID intubation fatality rates were high because it was a last ditch effort when all other treatments had failed. Now there are significant improvements in survival rates because they’ve figured out what works best. It’s still a last ditch option, they don’t put you on it just for shits and giggles. Again, your physician is best suited to giving you the relevant options and explaining the differences.
Please quit advocating specific medical decisions unless you are a board-certified physician. You aren’t helping anyone with your outdated and ill-reasoned opinions.

The medial professionals recommending those early interventions that i saw didnt recommend them as alternatives to vaccines, they recommended them as proactive treatments in the case of infection regardless of vaccination status.
Some people who were/are already wary of the vaccines certainly looked at those options as making the choice not to vaccinate less risky. But that’s not the same as the medical professionals who were smeared and censored offering them as alternatives.
