Traffic is backed up on Hwy 20 after a collision between a pickup and a motorcycle occurred at Orchard Shores Drive east of Clearlake Oaks in Lake county.

According to the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page, about 9 a.m., a black Dodge pickup struck a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was up and walking after the crash but an ambulance was dispatched to the scene.

One person was trapped and both lanes were blocked, the CHP page reported but details are unclear at this time.

As of 10:04 a.m. Caltrans posted, “State Route 20 in Lake County at Orchard Shore Drive (PM 29.375) is now open to one-way controlled traffic. Please use caution in the area.”

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.

UPDATE: Caltrans posted, “State Route 20 is now fully open at Orchard Shore Drive in Lake County. “

I hope the rider was “dressed to crash”, not wearing shorts and flip flops like so many fools.

Very happy to read that the motorcycle rider was up and walking around. Hopefully he will not be hurt too bad. The person driving the black Dodge must be blind in both eyes. He is very lucky his truck did not kill the rider! People it is motorcycle season so please watch for riders when you are on the road. Don’t pull out from a stop without taking a very good look in both directions for motorcycles. Bikers, please wear all your safety gear. It can make the difference between life and death!

I’m getting tired of these “motorcycle down” stories. There have been a lot this year, more than usual.

I’m glad everyone walked away.

Bug, hopefully the “motorcycle down” stories will catch the eyes of vehicle drivers and make them better at looking good for motorcyclists on the road.

You’re assuming the truck was at fault

You’re getting tired of these stories? How sad. Is there anything we can do to help you cope?

As a matter of fact, yes: help non-motorcyclists see motorcycles so there are fewer of these stories to report.

20 sure is a bitching drive. Like 299, it needs to be appreciated not raced.
Try to enjoy every mile you ride or drive in our beautiful country.
Being a statistic would suck.
